I complained about out of state plates upthread (and was ever so mildly called out for it)
But it's only gotten worse.
New additions are NM, IL, MO, KS, KY, SC, MD, and ME (3200 miles from here!)
And I've been leaving AK and VT off the list because we always have those plates.
I honestly don't think I've ever seen as many in this town as I have as this summer. At this point, the plates I haven't seen would be a shorter list.
Yeah, hiking in the over-loved Nat’l Park up the canyon from here makes one feel strangely justified (and sadly unsatisfied) about the old territorial instinct in light of the virus and simple protocols for, y’know, like not spreading a pandemic respiratory killing agent.
The 1” long winged ant-in-ear thing was some kind of special annoyance. That’s some next level torment.

Yellow jackets. And things just like them but bigger. I’ve spent the last three days with my shop vac vacuuming them out of three places on my house. I’ve got the nozzle on a 15’ adjustable aluminum shaft and I tap it on the siding. It pisses them off and they come out Looking to sting something and get sucked into the water filled shop vac. Hopefully the dust insecticide I ordered gets here soon
