Chronic neck pain that is usually nothing more than minor irritation / stiffness. I was working at getting rid of it all and strenghtening it while at work and may have overdone it a bit. Got home, was getting sore and then we carried skis and gear in to Robertson which set it off. Couldn't move my head at all until Wed. Now i'm trying to get it good enough to head up to work so I can get these shifts out of the way for skiing.Quote:

Nakiska was actually a lot of fun today, better than I expected. The line got to 3/4 people ahead MAX and the snow wasn't too icey until later in the day. No rocks and basically no kids. It was nice getting some speed and just giving'er on an opening day on some steeps, rather than avoiding all the kids and crowds at LL.

Did a quick forum search with no luck... Any recommendations on where/who to take an AST 1 course with in banff (or maybe jasper)?
:46 / :51 are taken from SSV. :52 is hard to tell with the tight shot but i'm thinking backside Louise. 1:02 looks like Quartz (SSV back country), 1:24, not sure but no packs = probably not back country i'm going to take a guess and guess Marmot???

we where just working on tower 4 to 3. not in the village, and walked up. Bus might have been moving new staff up? patrol start on monday, so others should start soon too?
BR is OK, the staff are mostly OK, its the head of the monster that is insane (yes, I'm using this as a medical term) just a fucking crackpot.. dont trust him with your safety. really.
I've heard there has been some poor decisions in the past. We mainly just get dropped off at our field site or sled up in the morning and do our own thing anyways.. but on the occasions that we do follow tours, I'll keep that well in mind!!

^^^ Yup, start at the top. It's a joke, but without my public school having skiing as part of the phys ed program, I would never have learned to ski, and that would be tragic.

i don't understand this bagging on small hills. i logged four and a half winters in saskatchewan skiing 110m of vertical and i had a blast. numbers aren't everything, it's how much fun you have. to this day when i see sask plates in the ski hill parking lot it brings me a smile because i know somebody is having a blast up there, even if they're wearing skidoo suits.

Skied Nakiska for a few hours today. I had a really good time, coverage on the one run was excellent, and the crowds weren't too bad. It felt good to be skiing again.
Numbers aren't everything, but when you go from BC hills to Sask molehills, it can take some getting used to. Kids have fun on the prairie hills though.Quote:

blackstrap near saskatoon was about 90. it looks like it's closed now. i've posted pics from both in "worst place you've skied" thread.
I lived in S'toon over one winter. Gave up on local alpine skiing and decided cross country skiing at -30 would be more fun! Also made a lot of trips to the mountains. Four years skiing at table mountain is commendable.
the skiing sucked, but fun was had. it's what you make of the shortcomings :)Quote:

400 vertical drop , and right on the canadian shield 5 foot drops all over the place and even a 60 foot couloir and a couple 40s if we had the snow and you had the balls . They started gladed the year i left i hear its pretty good when it snows 5cm to 10 cm
