I am no RR expert, been a number of times over the years. I don't really know if there is a trick to it. They park you where they park you, you don't get much choice. The earlier you get there the closer you get to park and the less hiking you do, but it will also mean a longer "Wait in traffic" to get out. Be prepared for hiking; unless you are one of the very close lots there is a fair amount of walking. Personally, I prefer being closer and just accepting the long wait to leave.
I guess the pro move is get there at least a couple of hours early, bring chairs and food and drink, and tailgate in the lot.

Right on. I think maybe tailgate might be the call...before and after. We have a dd, so that can work.
It ain't rocket surgery. But yeah, pregame as much as possible because drink prices in the venue are on another level.
We get there an hour and half or so before the gates open and park on the road next to the lower north lot. Park the car pointed north and drive straight out, we're back on 70 in 10-15 minutes. We pack a nice dinner and beverages to enjoy before the show, but once the show ends we want to GTFO ASAP, as it's usually past our bedtime.
Well, that place is freaking amazing! Definitely going back. Zero issues in an out of upper south lot.
Go back when there isnt a show sometime. You used to be able to walk around the stage and check out the cave behind the stage that has probably seen some crazy shit over the years. Some other cool stuff. There’s some decent bicycle riding to be done round there.

Agree, I love that you can wander around every day, anytime there isn’t a concert. Standing on the stage where all the greats have stood is freaking cool. It’s such an amazing place even when you’re not at a show.Originally Posted by Name Redacted;[emoji[emoji6[emoji640
Cool. How did you like Mines? While small, I think that’s a cool campus with some of the best modern university architecture in CO.Originally Posted by jackstraw;[emoji[emoji6[emoji640
Yeah, Mines is nice, but my kid opted out due to the heavy engineering population which was a wise move imo. He is an engineer now, but went to UCSC for a more diverse population...and surfing.
