It's ridiculous how long they tried to keep the charade going when it was effectively over quite a while ago.

And in the end they basically skipped out of town in the middle of night like the rats they are. Surprised they didn't even at least try to sound legitimate at the end and write some bullshit farewell that blamed their bankruptcy on tariffs.

Glad they did it this way. This ending is befitting of who they are.

Peak made a lot of industry type people look like idiots. The thread on skitalk is hilarious to read, guys saying they are bust, insiders saying everything is good, back and forth back and forth. Morons. The fuck was that real estate partnership all about?

Yeah. That thread is hilarious. There were definitely people warning the whole thing was a scam. One guy in particular laid it all out there that it was a scam with strong evidence to back it up. And yet lots of idiots (including Phil Pugliese who apparently runs the website) kept saying it was all good.

But some of that bullshit also happened here. When I started this thread a few people said I must be a disgruntled employee. Gaijin also kept popping up saying how rad it was that Bode and Dav were involved and industry titans.

But definitely over here it was obvious to most unlike the dentists over at SkiTalk who generally thought Peak was cool and anything Bode was doing must be super rad.

As far as the real estate partnership goes. The head of that agency is a friend of Andy Wirth. I'm guessing here. But my guess is that even though it was a really stupid idea and made no sense Andy convinced his buddy to go along with it.

And my guess is that Andy was hoping that the announcement of it would give hope for more investors to come in and give them money to continue operating or to try and sell the business. That didn't happen and it seems they finally pulled the plug and skipped town.

Has anyone notified Micheal Lish? Could be an amazing opportunity for Lish to swoop in and breathe life back into peak.

I own three pairs of Peaks, all those sales were great for buying skis but raised red flags for me pretty early, great skis though. It's a shame Andy was brought on board, his boutique, cater to the Yellowstone Club new Big Sky crowd was one of the death knell for this company. They needed to get the skis on the feet of actual passionate skiers. Old fashion Reps going out to local areas would have been a great first start. Also the showroom in Bozeman was very off putting to many people. Shame.

I wonder what happens with the keyhole patent?
They definitely put the hole in keyhole.

Peak Ski creditors are left holding their dicks. The keyhole will come in handy.

Trying to understand this thread. Is this just hate for the principles of Peak (i.e. Bode and Andy Wirth) or the skis themselves. I have 2 pairs that I picked up for a song (88s and 98s) nd I actually really like how they ski (especially the 88).

Lemme explain: Bode has a history of pumping biz & then ghosting. Then he did this again here, but claimed that his skis were revolutionary and that he was designing em and building them. Yet we all knew they were just Elan's.

    Absolutely!

But for me in particular, why I am glad to see them get destroyed isn't just about them repeatedly blowing bullshit up our ass.

While it's definitely annoying and I'd still make fun of them, what also doesn't sit well with me is that not only do they do this, but they always set it up so they profit off of it while inevitably leaving other people holding the bag and suffering financial losses.

I got no sympathy for starstruck investors. How much you wanna bet a pile of them hang at the YC.

^^^ I laughed because it is so very true. And what they lost is a rounding error to them and probably a tax advantage.

Good point, definitely a bunch of YC folks in the investor group! Curious how much skin Bode put into this game.
Also, this whole bogus venture took $'s away from legit ski manufacturers (big and small), in what's already a tough business.
I just got turned off from the outset on the arrogant marketing about some revolutionary ski that was anything but. Not doubting that alot of people like their skis, but obviously no revolution there.

Compare the way Peak came to market and how Moment did it. HQ was in two rather shabby buildings in an out of the way industrial area of Sparks NV. Make your own skis and be sure you don&#39;t have excess inventory at season end that you have to discount the shit out of to move besides damaging your image as well as future sales. Have a fantastic demo program, offer beer and be real about who you are. Doesn&#39;t sound all that complicated.</p>

Lots of vague “Aluminum” usage going on there. What kind of Aluminum? Cannondale’s can crack. Al typically has fatigue failure. Anyway, I like the idea.

Okay, got it. So it's hate for Bode and Andy and not necessarily the skis. And I get the hate for their business practices but don't really get the hate for the "keyhole" marketing. EVERY ski company does this. Elan has "amphibio tech", Volkl has titanal frame, and Blizzard claimed to re-invent skis with their "revolutionary" flip core technology.
