watched the Georgia replay the other day and thought the venue was great. my non statistical purely eye test analysis was that they could stack a lot of features and choose interesting lines. goguen is a freak.interesting development for this upcoming stop...Competition Confirmed: Fieberbrunn Pro Set for Friday March 7Following overnight strong winds that affected the snowpack on the Wildseeloder , the Freeride World Tour has made adjustments to ensure athlete safety. Only part of the venue meets competition standards, leading organizers to modify the event format.Tomorrow’s competition will proceed with three categories and 30 riders, instead of the originally scheduled four categories and 50 riders. The Ski Men category has been postponed, with plans to reschedule it during the waiting period following expected snowfall on Monday/Tuesday.

    Freeride World Tour

Well I’m fucked. The countdown on the FWT website was off by a full day so I didn’t get a bet in for any category even though the ski women just started

No worries. Nadine is making up for all your failed bets.

I’m going to go ahead and compare Nadine’s run to Passo’s run at Squaw.

Amazingly awesome to see a wildcard ski so strong.

Super bummed to see Zuzanna blow a knee.

Watching the women skiers make the best of shitty conditions was pretty entertaining. Nothing about the lower drop that the top 3 took on looked easy. Also very impressed with Astrid Cheylus, making beautiful turns in marginal terrain and snow. The boarders mostly sucked, as usual, but Cody Bramwell run is worth a look.

no mens ski comp? Nvm, funny to let the sideshow categories compete in conditions deemed not suitable for the main show.

So where should the ski men fly to for good conditions and weather? Haines has a weather window for Thursday!!! Maybe hakuba?

Grab the fis money and make something funny!

How is Zuzanna? And yes, Hakuba is going off. Oh... and yeah... Astrid is a growing star.

Damn, men’s ski canceled. Does anyone even watch the snowboarding? I did for the first event and maybe a little of the 2nd but I’m just good on that personally.

Maybe the winning run, but even that is infrequent.

What a shame! But understandable! Subtle called it ; )
Damit I really liked tenras style. Feel sorry for him. Deserves a wildcard IMO

Lame that they just fully cancelled men's ski. Snow was shit/dangerous enough for the men's ski, but good for women's ski and snowboarding?

For the first time in a very long time, the snowboard men’s podium was more impressive than the ski men. More creative lines and much better adapting to the conditions. Absurd that only 3 of 13 of the men’s field made it to the bottom without crashing.

Great day for the Whistler Freeride Club!
Wei wins the comp and Marcus wins the overall.

Agreed. Kind of a disappointing comp all around, but the top men's snowboard runs were solid.

Happy for Wei Tien - he's been on the verge for such a long time. And it took serious control to link together his 2 big airs.

And Ben Richards is smooth as fuck, even when he's crashing.

Awesome to see the Whistler crew take the win and overall, must be a huge relief for Weitien after so many times coming close on huge runs. Marcus punch front off that huge backflip wow. Weird comp but still stoked to see it. Cody with the men's SB win was really cool, so much exposure on that first hit and total control. Skimmed women's SB/ski and was not impressed.

    Good Lord.
I've kinda been skipping snowboard of late.

    But this is sick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STIv...cJCWIABgo59PVc

I hope he ended up speaking with the woman who was doing commentary.

Super smooth backflip and 360 there. Wish a couple of the ski men could have dialed it back it bit on this venue to see what that might’ve looked like. Not something I normally would want to see but clearly it didn’t work out for a lot of them going full send. Wei Tien’s run was real sick

Definitely a failure to adapt to the conditions, but entertaining nonetheless.

Seems like the level required to win an event is really really high. Hence all the guys are absolutely sending it. It’s a go big and trick it or go home mentality. Pretty sure that’s why Pollard called it quits, he saw where it was going and didn’t want to go there. The kid from Cham who backfliped above exposure was insane and down right scary to watch. Glad he was able to recover.
