It’s January and my co-workers in NOLA have more snow in their yards than I do…

It's all those wind farms diverting the storms away from California to the South.

I didn’t give a shit about all the dead birds, but I’m now on board with tearing down ALL the fucking windmills.

Shit, if poems are what it takes to fix the weather here goes.

    East wind slows me down
Speed dreams vanish in its grip
    Snow remains a wish

    Race skis find their line
East wind fights to stall my pace
    I just want to fly

    Snowboards carve new lines,
    Telemark turns test the knees—
    Snow blades dance with glee

    I'm out of plan B's
I just want to rip on skis
    High pressure times suck

    B-A fix your app!
    The snow forecast is stuck
    on permanent suck.
    live the life.

    No time for haikus
When there is snow on the ground
    Or if there isn’t

Better than circa 2012-2015. A few of those years we had nothing but manmade u til mid February.

I remember some great bump lines down the Ruet because they were unable to groom due to low snow. They were perfectly spaced.

Even last weekend the right off piste lines were skiing great. I'm just stoked to have coverage. Then again, the surf has been in reasonable for the past few months so there have been distractions.

I’ve been having a great time all over the mountain at Alpine. Everyone’s on groomers, leaving all the off piste for me! The right skis make a big difference.

Speaking of alpine, if anybody knows anybody that had a yard sale off the roof of their car heading down canyon this afternoon, I have your stuff. I assume it was a snowboarder since wrist guards were 100 yards past the mittens which were a hundred yards past the helmet and goggles

Definitely not the worst season on record and you can still have fun but let’s not try to put lipstick on a pig. Unless you like groomers and lack of crowds this season is leaving you wanting.

Anyone been out ice skating lakes? How is it?

I skied Kirkwood yesterday, mostly on chair six. I paid close attention to who was loading on chair ten, and except for two ski patrollers I saw no one get on the lift. I also saw a few head to the chair, only to be turned away. Off piste was not friendly from what I tried.

I wish I knew the place better. It was unbelievably empty.

At Mt.Rose they've groomed most all of the bumpy trails.
But have left Bruce's, a backside blue, with awesome bumps. Feels like you are in pachinko. Boing, boing!
Hella firm yes. But it flows, and gets better the more it is skied.
Other off piste is crappy, crusty, rutted.

I guess it all about ludicrous speed on the groomers at the Heave. Again
