    Shit that annoys me:

The sheer volume of patients and people in general that are driving around on prescription opiates.

More USPS love: ordered several bottles of cognac from France in November. No change to the tracking number since the end of November, when it says it cleared customs and was handed to USPS. When I try to fill out a service request on USPS, I get an error message "There was a problem submitting your Service Request. Please try again later." French shipper is shrugging and spreading their hands in Gallic fashion "But m'sieur, what can I do? It is your own postal service, is it not?"

Grr, it's enough to make me start drinking some local tipple

And BC, glad to hear you're making good progress with your eye injury. I had a somewhat similar freak injury 20ish years ago (opened a beer bottle on a fence post, the cap shot off into my eye) and made a full recovery; sounds like your outcome is going to be similar, which is great.

Re USPS and other shippers--the sender is the one responsible for the package until it's in your hands, the one who should be dealing with shipper and the one who owes you if you don't get the package. Although I don't know how that would work if the sender is in another country. Re the cognac--I believe that's a first world problem. France is still in the first world, oui?

    Ban worthy? That's medal worthy!

I had the same initial thought re: the shipper - why are they making their problem my problem, but then I wasn't really sure who was responsible so gave the USPS claim thing a shot. Good feedback, I'll try to get them to take some ownership.

And yeah, maybe this is a post for first world problems - "I simply can't get artisanal cognac in this dreadful backwater, and must order it from France, darling"

You're welcome to stop by and hang out for a while. Cat bosses the dog around. They're about the same size. The dog weighs more but is old and fragile. The cat is sharp and pointy and young and beats his ass when they tussle. They shouldn't tussle and he really just needs to be left in peace to enjoy his remaining time in the sun. Besides, he's confined to a smaller area because of the peeing thing. The cat can go sleep all kinds of other places and is taking his bed just to be a dick.

Let's bring this all together; skiing and annoyances.

My latest is when the lot jockey at the local hill parks the car behind me so close I can barely get my tailgate down. Look, I get it; they're trying to cram as many people into the lot as possible. FFS, give a little room there, guy.

Next time drive in with your tailgate down, or drop it as soon as you are parked and leave it down.

People that think a smile makes a decent portrait. It does not. Stick to your shitty cell phone pictures.
