Unfortunately I have Sasquatch feet (335mm) so it rarely works to try other folks skis. If not, I'd take a trip to the INW to give them a go. It's also why I suggested mounting the "demo" pair of 120ST I had last year with actual demo bindings vs my own.

Marshal, always the best CS! I may try to get in the 116 crew after asking for a 191 BG replacement for so long. It's too late for the pre order, right?

Im afraid to quote due to attack of the emoji virus. Lol. Not sure about the pre order time line. Honestly they RCone one six, final production ski, will be a perfect and more apples to apples replacement for the BG. But with a little more hp/tq.

I can't figure out what the right thread to post about the R120 swallowtail is, so I'm going with this one?

Anyway, only skied on groomers and chopped up stuff with my kiddo today, but they were excellent. I wanted a longer, stiffer version of a Line Pescado (which I have, mounted with Alpinists these days) or a Season Forma (which I also have, mounted with Pivots).

These certainly seem like the ticket (though more deep days do await). They seem like the perfect PNW ski where there's no such thing as top to bottom bowl run or whatever and even the best runs are going to have some sort of mashed up / heavier run out zone +/- a groomer.

These roll on edge and are stiff enough to push through the chunked up hard stuff. I don't see why they won't float exactly like I want in soft things. All in all they seem great.

I suppose a word of warning as well (nothing to do with HR skis tho), I nearly broke my fingers mounting the new Pivot 2.0s. They made the gap between metal heel steel bar and the heel piece itself larger (probably because people like me have repeatedly pinched fingers in it?) but now it's apparently 1/16" tighter tolerance than my index and middle finger, which got entrapped between the two metal surfaces when I actioned the unmounted heel to check hole placement. After a few minutes of panic and trying to free myself at the default DIN (so much additional pain) and then asking my wife to call the FD to bring an angle grinder I remembered that I could turn the DIN down and maybe escape and that worked (before the FD arrived).

^thanks for the R120ST update, I think you’re the first to post about the production version, sounds rad. Sorry bout your finger, and I’m also sorry to tell you that any reel that starts with “I told my wife to call the FD” is objectively hilarious. You coulda had that finger amputated and I’d still be rolling.
There are lions and there are sheep. So, which one are you?

Yeah I was in full on panic bc my fingers were not just stuck but painfully compressed by the metal and I couldn't figure out any way to free them since every which way that I manipulated the heel just caused more crushing of my fingers.

The audience for my reel was generally people who know I also drove myself to the hospital with a ruptured appendix (so that I could just crash at the hospital and work my shift the next morning) when it turned out not to be appendicitis [spoiler: it was appendicitis and I did not work my shift the next morning]

Also I got my fingers free before they got there :P

I've been mounting pivots for years and just caught my thumb with the din at 13 a few weeks ago for the first time. That shit fucking sucks. The binding was off the ski, so I stood on the base plate and was able to use my other foot to knock it off. Seriously thought I broke my thumb... rite of passage I guess lol

That demo program is legit. Talk about having faith in your product! I have a few folks locally who I should send that info too. People have been checking out the HL skis but it is hard to commit when so many people are used to demo days first. This take that problem away.

It feels Like a touch more fall line oriented R 120 beta.

Which I know you are a fan of.

    Mmm, tasty.
    I have the ZFs.
I like the little pocket of camber on those but they hand flex like they need to be driven.

Can do, but I'm not very heavy.

PS Skied my 185 FL105s today and they rock!

Bringing Back The Best: Lotii And Other Assorted Love Songs

Got on funkys R’s today!!! Two inches of soft and it kept snowing all morning! They legit hookup but also make skiing so dang engaging/fun!! Also can just chill bases flat.

Heck, funky was as playful as I’ve ever seen him on skis — Game mode unlocked!

Nobody asked, but here they are

    Bode 186 to the left
    FL116SE 190 to the right

    Pup for scale

I thought they would be more similar, but more rise and less flat on the FLs. Flex pretty similar. If the SEs are 8s on MOs scale, Bodes are at most 8,5

Edit: mounted my own fucking HLs. Yes. I am the fastest skier on the hill

Grabbed my SEs today on a very non-SE day.
-Seven” in the past day: that set the fuck up where it was skied.
    -One” overnight

Ended up lapping the high speed quad for an hour or so, and just skied fall line bumps with them!! They did surprisingly well; I was able pivot and smear through bumps just fine. Ventured into the trees and found some untouched which was exactly where the ski wanted to be.

49* groomed wonderfully over night so the groomed cord was mint. I had much better success getting them to tip on edge. Fully engaged the ski and found a ton of confidence the more I skied them.

Note to self: tip, then carve.

I really regret not grabbing mine over the d* mf112 on Saturday. The 116 is a truly awesome ski.

Hey SF, you're EU based aren't you? If it's not to rude to ask, how much was the postage to get the skis in hand. And did customs charge you as well? Hoping next year there'll be a little more cashflow next year and I can get in on the pre orders.

Nope, Norway - so apples to oranges.
    The shipping itself is reasonable
