Coverage looking good. This is the earliest opening I can remember:

We drove by there on Sunday and it looked bleak. Good to hear that they open tomorrow.

Off to Boler shortly and glad to have a hill within ten or fifteen minutes of home.

And let me know if you need me to call work for you. "This is Paulsters dad calling. He is not feeling well today and will not be at work."

Took the call from the car in the parking lot, then snuck in some laps. One lift open, one run open. But, best run I’ve done all year so far and the vibe was good. People are happy.

    Kudos on your first ski!

Saw a youtube video of some rowdy lads ripping up Limberlost this morning. Not a bad start for that hill.

You wouldn't happen to have that link in your browser history, would you? Those rowdies should share their experiences.

I remember hiking and hacking plants on those lines back in 2023. When they mentioned skiing the cliffs I thought, 'don't do that!'.

Headed into Arrowhead on the 5th and hope the rain doesn't cause a problem with the snow pack before we get there.

Boler lost some base but still soldiering on. Doesn't look like a great winter again for xcountry but thank gawd for fake snow.

Ontario 2024/25 - Come For The Lifts, Stay For The Lines

Out at Mount St Louis today with my dad. My 45th birthday today, he’s 75 and still crushing it. Did the math on the lift today - between us we have 100 seasons on the slopes! That’s a lot of turns (and money)!!

Decent snow, great if you remember it’s not even Christmas yet…

Edit: Can someone please go whack the server? Looks like the tubes got messed up again…

Not going to quote that mess Paulster but good for you skiing with the old man. Only ever skied xcountry with my pop. Got a pair of his old metal edged sticks hanging on the wall. He gave up downhill when kids came along.

Christmas Eve ski was great! Good snow, good vibes, and kids are getting in to the hardcore ripper age.

Was at Blue Mountain On Christmas Eve and Day.

Usually by first run or two I'm back to last year's form but admittedly I was skiing like hot garbage the entire first day. Complete with full on dragging poles for balance and a pretty decent fall that I'm still feeling. Maybe an age thing?

Snow was great and lightning fast. Glades looked promising but had some bare spots. Pedestrian areas were slammed but the slopes were pretty empty.

A little bummed to find Jozo's has gone all out peak village pricing. I was never a regular there or anything but always got the sense they were proud to offer slightly better prices than the immediate alternatives. Best fries I've had in ages though.

A holiday themed window display I can get behind

Line up for the coaster. Never seen it like this before! It was longer than pictured as I was trying to position myself to give the folks some privacy.

I don't generally spend much time in the village but it sure looks great this time of year

Nice pics of Blue. Sounds like a fun way to spend Christmas.

Glad I bought some extra Goretex when it was on sale years ago. Quite the rainy morning. Add in a baseball hat under the helmet for cleaner glasses and I should be good to go. I've had days like this when you're the only person on the lift. Snow should be soft but even with the heat yesterday it was fairly firm. Chem in the snow pack?

The future looks bright and a polar vortex will be welcome.

Paulster2626 - hey if this mild spell means we get to skip our seemingly yearly January thaw we get I'll take it.

petey_ It was nice, but not my ideal place to celebrate Christmas. Had to sorta go with the flow on this one. Chem in the snow pack? Yep https://www.nbcolympics.com/news/sci...inter-olympics

I don't mind rainy days on the hill at all. Not going to spend the whole day out there but single lifts are nice.

Any reports from the Limberlost get together? We had a cabin at Arrowhead earlier in the week. Skating track was closed so we got some x-country in. A bit crunchy with dirt and sticks poking through in spots. Still fun. Meanwhile, I get reports of snowmageddon back home. Ontario weather is blooming unpredictable other than the fact we'll get several rounds of rain during winter.

Off and on bits of fresh snow on the hill have been sweet. Fast concrete this morning and flat light.

Guessing that the Barrie/Collingwood area has decent conditions.

‘Twas a fine day for a tour of Limberlost! on Saturday Once the late arrivals trickled in, there were 15 folks in attendance. Snow conditions were great for touring, less good for turning. I'm having Internet issues, will post random pics later.

New snow incoming this week, should improve things big time.

Edit: I'm lazy - check out photos here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wwhsta

I know it's technically Quebec but Mont Chili is so much closer to you guys living the dream out west. Hopefully they get that t-bar firing a little earlier this season and with enough warning for a nice Ontario/Quebec maggot crossover episode. I've been talking about it for enough seasons now.

I'm in Ottawa, Mont Chili has been on my list for a while.

Between having a kid in ski racing and the weather in recent years I haven't been able to make it.

    Some day.
