    Trigger pulled on RC116s.

Only drawback on the SE116s is the ride back to the chair on hard pack.

Thinking a touch of camber will do that ski well!

Quick question: How might the UT122 compare to my Noctas (circa 21/22 vintage)?

Gonna take my pair to the alpine, and run some shit over; once broken in, ZF gonna be an 8.8. Ain’t first yer last.
Non comp 95s on the res list too.
    Appreciate ya MO!
Yeah, the RC116 will have a broader range of audience for sure. Should be a huge seller.

If anyone is wanting the flat SE/FL 116, I have a new pair I’d unload. Same price, $699.

Was about to mount these up, but I’d prefer a cambered version if someone wants these.

10” - 15” over a firm crust with a thin raincrust on top.

    SE116 destroyed.

It’s not a billygoat. More of a scalpel less of a tongue depressor. Still as loose, but far less “tip float” dominant. Ate the crust like it was nothing.

Super easy to pivot/stivot when I wanted, stand on the ski and let er run when I wanted. Full gas angulated athletic skiing, big swooping GS turns over whatever I wanted. Loose in the trees too. The profile and flex was perfect off piste. On hardpack, a little camber would be nice but that’s not the point of this tool in my collection. I have lots of other skis that fill this niche.

I view this ski as the spiritual successor to the 4FRNT EHP.

There was a small part of me that almost grabbed RC95s just because that ski flat out rips

Skied the ZF’s yesterday to blue skies and a bunch of new terrain opening with 16” of settled pow from sitting for the last week on a unskied base with a little wind compaction. Lots of wind buffed soft ripper runs as well.
Pointed them off the lift down the groomer to the first newly opened section. Came in hot af to a beautiful clean canvas. The edges are sharp and reflect that as they wanted big huge carved arcs in pow. The ski begged for the fall line and more speed, which I applied but then came to a area with willow tops and the line started to neck down and I had to check a bunch of speed back into reality. Easy, push on the tips, release the tail, just dump speed but remain precise. Cleared the choke and stepped on the gas again to set giant arcs out the bottom. Bazinga!
The ski just eats vert, bumps, groomers, pow and chop, oh my do they eat chop. They will also just pop and play on small hits or ski with the gf for some runs as well. This is the resort pow ski i’ve been craving for a long time. Thanks for obliging this creation Marshal! I’ll do another very specific report when I have time.

    /\/\/\ Sick.

    Data point on the R120st:

Making hudge GGS (Gorilla Giant Slalom (single pole Snake Style)) turns through everything on the apron approaching the SLOW sign at the bottom and Patrol is giving me the "slowdown wave".

Haven't been told to ease up on groomers while skiing a big ol' fat pow ski very often.

I want those cambered 113 death machines. @Marshal Olson , any chance you have another pair of those, or were they one offs?

I have a pair with minimal camber and they are rad. I'm hoping to get some time at a hill where I can have room to open them up this year. I don't have the real estate at my local mtn.

My Science experiments for this winter:

    179(~183) HB122, -4.3 (0 days)
    180 R120ST, -6.8 (0 days)
    180 FR110, -5.8 (12 days)

Can't wait for the snow to come back to try the HB122 and R120ST. Trigger pulled for Spring 2025 shipment of a 180 BC 110 and 183 UT122, cause apparently I am really into Science and I know I won’t be happy with anything other than those two for my long-term touring quiver,....prolly mounting both with ATK's. Science isn't cheap.

The BC120 is more of a "performance SUV" kind of thing. Big sweet spot and really well rounded. Fast and fun, but more versatile/forgiving in marginal conditions (going too fast over speed bumps, to continue the car analogy).
Re: the Ultra Taper 122, to what extent is the 183 length more forgiving/easier to ski? Is the flex softened up relative to the 190, or just a shorter length? I see a potential opportunity to consolidate the fat half of my touring quiver (currently occupied by the Bent Chetler 120 and ARG II UL) into a single ski with the Ultra Taper 122, but for that to work I need it to be fun for meadow skipping and pow noodling, not just ripping big lines at speed…

Sounds like the BC120 might be the ticket for you, potentially sizing up to the 193s for additional stability?
