Maybe I just love the idea of the holidays.

    I’d rather be skiing.

You're getting *so* close to true freedom.

Couple more years and I wager you'll be there.

I'll look for you on the hill. Please tell me you didn't get a new coat.

Skiing is supposed to be fun. My new and improved attitude.

It was one of the better season openers in recent memory. Lots open, excellent coverage and some new snow to boot. Powder Seeker tomorrow????

Ran into a lot of old friends, took a tram scenic lap and then in for a beer and some wings.

The beer was good, the wings sucked ass. (whatever the fuck Boyne op in the old MR Hummers space).

    Nope, I use real money.

Bozeman people: I'm assuming Fairy Lake Road would be snow covered given it starts at 6,000ft and Bridger web cams look to have snow at same elevation?

I have some things I want to test this weekend.

I'm no help but have seen lots of friends already ripping chutes at FLMR. Post some pics if you take the project over there.

Watching Mario’s video from yesterday of him skiing through trees on Challenger made me seriously jealous. Fresh snow, decent coverage, and no bumps…awesome.

Made myself go spin some laps this morning before sitting around stuffing my face and watching football. Dust on crust but hey still good to be out and see familiar faces. Talked to a patrol buddy and he tells me "hey just opened northern lights....it's...not....great. lol.

Happy Thanksgiving mags! Jealous of you big sky fuckers.

Ran the cat for a couple hours close to the truck in the event of break-down to make for easy recovery. Nothing broke. Need to work on some things, but overall worked great. Cruises 10-12mph no issue, could easily double or triple that speed, but no snowcat needs to go 20mph, especially one with no suspension. And, I'm not in a hurry. Diesel heater keeps it warm. Only weighs 1800lbs dry so super easy to tow.

…lost my boots in transit babe, pile of smoking leather.
Nailed a retread to my feet and prayed for better weather…

Good way to end a great opening weekend. Rolled a non stop Twolf liftline with a young fellow ski freak at the end of the day. He was pretty stoked and telling me Heather McPhie used to ski non stop Mad Wolfs all the time. Seeing the passion in a young guy addicted to the sport reminds me why I love it so much.

Turns out optimism of a Snotel at 7,900ft showing 16” doesn’t mean shit at 6,000ft. Oh well, burned the shit outta some fossil fuels, so that made it worth it.

^^^ still cool to see it out and moving. How many skiers do you think it would tow?

Meanwhile: Went down to TheBig for a shot of Vitamin D and some groomers. Andesite was very good GS turning and carvy, same with Elk Park.

The Bowl was OK, but needs more coverage, still a great workout. Liberty was open so WTF, ran into a former Dirt Bag King and he and I skied a lap and I followed him through the minefields. Upper 1/3rd was watch out for sharks, middle 3rd was good and creamy thick with a solid underlayment.

Tomorrow it won't be as pleasant.

Seating for six….its pretty spartan. Bench seats and a blue collar ride, but the diesel heater makes it really warm.

It’ll tow more skiers than a road could fit. Power is something it has in abundance.

Hope the ridging breaks down soon. This weather has been great for riding.

I specifically got a job on the PR survey team one year, and the job came with a red coat.

I cut lines every day I worked in that coat, and skied til noon without doing any work … any means necessary man

Liberty was skiing nice Sunday for sure. Those turns down screaming left were pretty sweet too. Wide lazy arcs back and forth across the entire run.

Things are gonna deteriorate a bit before hopefully a refresh this weekend.
