I’ve skied the 187 Meridians and have a pair of 186 FR110s that I’ll be mounting up soon—happy to report back.
I really liked the Meridians in certain conditions (corn and chalk) but also found them to not be very damp. In comparison, the FR110s are heavier and less stiff, so both elements should make them damper, plus I know there are some differences in construction.
The FR110s also have more taper—I sometimes struggled with the Meridians in 3D snow as the full sidecut would engage, and I didn’t think they floated all that well for their width.
I do expect that the FR110s won’t quite match the edge hold of the Meridians when really carving hard, but that’s not how I want to ski a reverse camber ski.
