    * I am camping on the island right now, and it definitely was not there earlier today. A bald eagle has been hanging around, I am assuming he dropped it here. Thing is gross, and spooky.

Harry, I suspect it is in the lizard ( family), that someone was keeping, and may then have put the carcass out to attract birds of prey as it was 'pieced-out' -

Not - quiet an iguana, but it appears to be from that 'neighborhood' to me.

    One hell of an overbite.
Agreed on walleye, gill covers and nostrils halfway back to the eyes.

Temps are getting into the 20's at night, starting to winterize the island.

Today I am taking my dock out. Very EZ, it has big plastic tires both front and back, so I hook up an electric winch and it just walks itself right out. Takes under 10 minutes.

That is the most thoroughly documented dock pull in the history of TGR. Nice work.

Most are much more involved, especially if you have a boat lift.

Nice work on the dock Harry
Question - do you have a way to tie off the dock so it doesn’t move while on terra firma?

I ask because a former business partner lived on a lake in Ontario. He pulled his floating dock every year in pretty much the same way as you, except his dock was on skids rather than wheels.

One late fall day (before the ice came in) I’m on the phone with him and he yells “oh shit! I’ve gotta call you back”.

An hour later he called back. His St Bernard had jumped up on the dock, and it slid down the bank into the water with the dog still aboard. So he had to jump in his canoe (motorboat was on the trailer in the barn and winterized), paddle out, tie to the dock and tow it back to shore.

After that he sunk a post in the ground as an anchor for the dock.
