Not a lot to add that hasn't been said, but get used to driving a little more (with way less traffic) and checking yourself for complaining about a two-minute lift line. Powderhorn and Monarch (and yes, Purgatory) are very underrated small mountains, and the drive over Red to S mountain is easy once you figure out where the ice hides and the rocks don't. If you can ski midweek you're set, but even holiday weekends are nothing like the I-70 corridor. You just need to adjust to not living in a ski town.

The Meth Myth that hangs over the western slope is not without justification, but it's nothing like it was in the '90's-'00's. Even Grand Junkshow is turning itself around (but is still very redneck). Montrose has a really good parks and rec department, schools are about what you'd expect for a semi-rural agrarian community, flights are pretty damn affordable for a regional airport. I often drive over from DRO to fly out because it's significantly cheaper.

And yeah, motorsports. I find dirt bikes completely obnoxious, but Peach Valley is fun as hell. I would absolutely own a moto if I were on that side of the hill.

You gotta earn that belt buckle, and it has to commemorate something that happened twenty years ago when you peaked.

I think Montrose is a great central location if you don't mind driving for a LOT of great areas.

I just cant imagine you in a cowboy hat or boots. So when are you moving back to boulder? Haha

I have some of those things already. I want a pet llama or a cow or something. Maybe a chicken.

My uncle owned a tractor dealership. Wonder if I can get a prodeal.

1 Hour is the perfect ski commute. I'm 2 and change EW min. Id send it and get Epic for CB and Telly pass. Thats a really chill ride both ways Gods Country.

To do an unwanted East coast comp lets say you ski Cannon. Living 15 mins away in Littleton won't get you more time on the hill than an hour away in Concord. That hour is chill peaceful in your big ass truck and you still might do an afternoon hot lap and say fuck it and go at 1pm.

I'd give it two thumbs up as well, I think Snowaddict has it pretty dialed. Powderhorn is totally underrated, too. Montrose itself is any suburb, USA which I wouldn't be excited about, but the recreation and central location is really good. We're hoping to end up in Ridgway someday.

Powderhorn is pretty pretty nice... decent sized, good lift and trail layout and nice views.

Yeah, I think Ridgway is what we are leaning towards. Wife says she won't complain about the commute if we are that direction. It is also a much shorter commute to T-ride and RMP/Silverton when the road is open. Much more of our style of housing too. Ridgway as a town has never really impressed me that much, but it is the best of both worlds with being close to Montrose for the grocery store and all but far enough away. We spent a weekend there camping at the state park and it was nice.

Still all up in the air, but if the wife gets the job I am down to go give it a shot. Keep our house in Summit and rent it out. Pretty excited for it to work out. Probably won't happen till spring at the earliest I guess.

Not much to add except that Montrose has one of the best coffee roasters in CO -- Cimarron roasters.

I’m a gun owner and I have been for nearly 50 years, I don’t have any radical fringe anti gun agenda and I never have. So if I’m not taking up space in your brain, someone is. I like fucking with you because you behave like an unhinged lunatic.

I am flying out to Montrose in January to check out the golf course neighborhoods. We are looking to move next Summer.

I am trying to get more information about the area. This all helped. I was wondering - what is wrong with living in Montrose? It seems to have everything I need. Prices look reasonable.

I would probably get the MCP, and a Telluride weekday
pass. Looking to get back into sleds, dirtbikes, fishing, and rafting. Why not? I get to retire in 2025 at the age of 55.

Right. I also remember you saying i was making 'veiled threats' because I said that you breaking the law to harass me could have legal consequences.

Its ok, you can gaslight, I know fitting in and feeling like people think you're normal is most important to you. Go delete your pots if you want. You aren't normal, you're the radical fringe, and the rest of the country is clear onthat.

    Have a great day!
