I've debated Castifying my DW's since they have P15's already. The ski isn't super heavy to begin with. Doing a Shift on the DWT would add some damping and suspension to a lighter ski.
Just thinking out loud here. These are the internal debates that I have.
C92 to CB is a big spread. There's definitely room in the middle for something versatile. A DW 104 could slot in there, also. It's a great ski for Tahoe. I had very few days last year where I felt like I needed to be on something else.
I'm positive I could go C92, DW (with Shift) and CB and be happy with life. I'm light, slogging a couple hundred more grams up is worth it for the added inbounds performance.
A side note for pure mental masturbation, if I were to have a single pair of skis in my life it would be a DW with Duke PT16's or Cast. Heavy bindings for touring, but worth it inbounds. I don't think Shifts would cut it for every day, but there are better skiers than me that would argue that.
