Yeah it's on them not you man. Good luck.

I'm gonna see if I can get the PM firm to take care of it. It's on their property.
And no, it's on me if I ask someone to do something and they get hurt or break the fence or whatever.
Neighbor has also been trying to help (it was her tree). So that's nice. She's an old widow, so not a lot to expect. Have lists of names/companies. Here's hoping my poor car isn't totalled.

This rental is nice and the bike fit in it without taking the wheels off. Felt good to get back on the bike after lasing in the 100 degree temps (and not sleeping right).
It's a nicer Hyundai than digital death could ever imagine.
    No longer stuck.

It's totalled. New to me Outback should be ready Monday. If you have had at least 3 vehicles totalled in your life, then you're a fucking amateur.
So long Impreza, we hardly knew ye.

The Snowbowl preseason newsletter just arrived via snail mail yesterday. In it is an update on final phase of the TV Mountain expansion including the adding of what they are calling the “A” lift that will run from “the old Point 6 road switchback to slightly west of the top of the Grizzly chair”. Also noted is the extension of the runs on the north side including Twilight Zone, Cheers, Yada Yada and Bada Bing Bada Boom. This lift will allow access from Snowpark to the LaValle lift without having to return to the base as is required now. They also replaced the old snowmaking system on the Headwall this summer.

I wonder whose 1960s chair they bought for this latest project.

Where ever it's from, they've had it in mothballs for a decade or so. I seem to recall hearing they bought a lift from Park City, but it's just a hazy inkling, that might have been the Snow Park lift.

    SOS this weekend.

Thanks for the info 2harsh, they probably won't send me one this year since I didn't buy anything from them last year. Would you or someone mind posting photo of Xmas club info?

Bunch of second hand chair parts at intersection of road to parking lot and bottom of snow park. I think it was another center pole riblet.

The chair is certainly a Riblet, I think it's the one they had sitting in the boneyard. IDK about Xmas club.

I'm going to try to sell my avy stuff at SOS; BCA Tracker 2, unused; Ortovox 240cm probe, unused; Ortovox F1 Plus, old but fully functional; Ortovox Alaska aluminum shovel, lightly scratched. Also new in plastic Nordica Patron size ten; Technica Zero G Guide Pro size 11 (used for about forty trip up Snowbowl, in great shape, and the liners are unused); unbaked Intuition Plug 29 liners; Scarpa TT Phantaplastic liners, baked once but never skied.

Prices will be low-ish for what I'm selling.

I won't be putting them in SOS, but I also have a pair of DPS Wailer 115s, with Dynafit diagonal STS, and Ascension skins which I intend to sell. I don't want to have to ship them, but will do a package deal to a local. It's a great set up, but I don't see myself climbing mountains anymore. PM for price.

Hey 406 - looks like they changed the name to Holiday Camp which runs from 12/30/24 to 1/1/25. Two options - Team Extreme for skiers and Boardheads for one plankers.

Is the new lift opening this season? Did they say?

No details regarding the construction timeline were included in the post. Sounds like the chair is still in a pile of parts and pieces according to those in the know.

Seems like you could almost get away with a rope tow for that. It's not too far from the top of spartan to the road down to lavelle.

Guess I should buy my pass soon. Think prices go up nov 10th?

Oh, and anyone want to buy my touring skis? going with something a little bigger.

    dynafit blacklight 88 178
    dynafit skins to fit them
speed radicals, 1.5 mounts, fits ~305-330bsl
3 seasons of use but last year barely count

Twilight Zone is one of my favs but currently involves a long slog via the cat track back to the SnowPark chair. SB’s update mentioned extending the north side runs. I’m wondering if the new chair loading terminal might be placed below that cat track road making the runs like Twilight Zone longer?

From the map of the master development plan, it looks to me like that's the intention of the chair lift option. There also is a proposed t-bar option, from Spartan saddle to the top of Griz, but it seems they are going for the chair.

Ah yes - thanks for the link. Looks like the plan is to tuck the bottom terminal just adjacent the ski area north boundary.

Which is where the original Missoula Snowpark base area was. The "Twilight Zone" run is what we used to call "Old Man Powder", before the Snowpark Lift opened.

Their webpage is circa Y2K - glad they dusted it off to add this seasons pass info.

Your mention of the “original Missoula SnowPark base area” got me curious. I ordered Stan Cohen’s book aptly titled “The History of Snowbowl - 62 years of skiing Tv Mt, SnowPark to Missoula/Montana Snowbowl”.
Thanks for dropping the knowledge nugget on me!

I gave that book to my Dad for Christmas a few years back, it's informative, and the old pics are cool, but Stu is not a great writer.

Wondering if downloading on the Griz to the base will be required next weekend?
