I take monday tuesday off in the winter which makes it tough for me to ever leave my job. so plus have a good amount of flexibility the other days.

I am taking a wild guess as 11/1 for opening day

Pretty standard mountain town conversation this time of year:

"what days you taking off this winter"

    "Saturday Sunday" [/frown face]

"I'm sorry...I'll txt you if I make it out Sunday last chair....or April"

This is why people rage. Maddie and Eli are winning at life but losing at skiing. They are traffic and they are lift line and they are "I wish I was here Wednesday". But don't bring it up. Eli's boss laughed when he wanted to go hybrid, the #I've got a place in Frisco is a bit outta reach and Maddie doesn't want to be away from the Girlies and the faux upper class suburban ease.

But not me, I'm a G. Reservations cramp my style.

If it was anything like reservations during COVID, it will work out just fine for those willing to play the game. The reservations will book up instantly then the cancelations will flow back into the system.

As mentioned, there is no long term plan. The municipalities are just chasing assessed value to generate revenue to justify their own existence and the ski areas are operating a business.

Absolutely nobody has a vested interest in making the busy times busier. So I'm pouring one our to the 9-5ers and families that feel they have to ski weekends and holidays. Because your life will continue to get harder.

Some may fake like they care about the front range day skier. Many will rage. But you are replaceable, just like me.

So for now, we have mid week. But not first thing on a pow day. And Spring. And kinda sorta Sunday afternoon. And for many, there are just enough good time to keep us holding on. And we get the vacations on the mega pass.

But you know what Jackson, Tahoe, BCC/LCC, Big Sky and so on are like? Same fucking junk show.

So pile up your fun tickets. Buy a snowmobile. Ski the BC. Embrace XC. Work more so you can pay for more vacations.

We live in a busy place and someone else will always have for time and money than you do. Try not to tie your inhappiness to weekend lift served.
Big sky is empty. In the middle of nowhere, fly in destination. Half or more of Bozeman goes to Bridger, the other have work at big sky. Literally empty most of the time.

1,750 parking spots = $35k/day when full. Knock a grand or two off for the 4+ carpoolers and those of us with the parking pass. $Cha-ching!

I wonder if they sold out of parking passes. And I wonder if they sold out of season passes.

Back in the day, when I had a POS car that wouldn't make it to the basin without blowing up, i used to hitchhike up and down every day. Drive to the keystone lodge and throw a thumb out or ride the bus from there. I knew a girl who worked there and sometimes I would hang out in the hot tubs after skiing. It was pretty nice. Might start doing that again.

I ski the weekends, holidays, and weekdays because I like to ski. Crowds are rarely a deterrent at the basin, especially in The post-epic pass era. Hopefully the parking bullshit deters even more people.

parking passes were limited and did sell out, as of a few days ago there were still unrestricted passes. not sure how many parking passes were actually sold.

next few days should offer some good snowmaking weather, wednesday and wednesday night in particular. from what I heard the snowmaking pond was refilling at a good rate with the help of that last snowfall.

Beach spots count as 1 of your 2 reservations. Lame.

I sent an email. Makes no sense that a Friday beach rez in April should count as one of my season parking pass spots.

I would have the same complaint except by birthday beach day was already sold out. that went quick. Agree with you though and I will send email saying I don't want to book a beach day if it means I can only have 1 rez at a time all season.

Basically, create a separate account for your beach days. They replied and offered to send me a new code so I can create new account for my season parking pass.

Sucks I have to manage two accounts, but oh well. Wish I had known in advance, just assumed Beach days would be completely separate deal.

cumbersome. but at least they got back quickly with a solution. Did you note the beach spot cancellation terms? I think it was 2 weeks prior for full refund before.

I think I figured it out but feel like I had to refresh or something to get my parking pass to show up. I was definitely a little confused on the process, still am maybe. When trying to reserve a day initially it said code was already used or something like that but then it ended up working. Also it looks like you can have 5 license plates in your account? Still trying to figure out the scenario where if I am using my parking pass with friends but don't want to drive that day how does that all work.

Did not make it up but I just took a look at the webcams and the line honestly does not look too crazy by opening day standards. High noon Is definitely not 'wall to wall' at the bottom quite yet. Contemplating going up for first chair tomorrow, I would prefer to try to get out on a weekday but not sure I will be able to do much midweek skiing until after Thanksgiving. Hopefully it just keeps snowing at this point.

How did you get a code? Or get your parking pass to show up? I just registered an account and got nothing like that. All I get is AI answers when I email them. Pretty worthless.
