Yeah it's the wrong year but it's pretty sharp looking. This became kind of a catch-all Pathfinder thread so.

Good lookin out GL, unfortunately I've resigned to landing only a 94 or 95, the final year of the hardbody style. I'm convinced half of the posts on FB Marketplace are bots/fakes. I've found a couple promising ones in the past year and never got return responses from the sellers. Then I'll see the same listing show up again months later and still no response.

Every time I see this thread bumped, my heart rate increases with anticipation of a happy ending. But like most of the time, not a fucking end in sight.

Same here. I get a tinge of excitement when I see the thread bumped while I wait for the forum to load after clicking on it. Did someone find a unicorn?

I still think of this one that I missed out on. Right price, right condition, could have easily repainted it. Ugh.

I know you said 94/95 but this one's pretty clean and the differences are so negligible. AND it's a 5 speed.

What kind of a pain in the ass is it to import/federalize a car from Canada?

Would a car over 25 years old need to have the gauge cluster changed for mph?

Vehicles over 25 years are easy. Cluster does not need to be changed.

Nah. I have a'82 FJ40 from Venezuela with a km speedo. If there is a law I have to change it I've never seen it. Old cars are old cars, nobody cares. I had a '62 Scout with no seatbelts, never got in trouble for that one either. Only got pulled over once for driving with the windshield down, apparently that is frowned upon, though it could have been because I was driving and while wearing ski goggles and having way to much fun. But the cop still let me go with just a warning.

I just need you to find this damn pathfinder because whenever I see one I think of this thread, and I am now at the level of only looking for '94/95 models and everytime the thread gets bumped my heart skips a beat because I think you found one. I buy and sell a lot of old 4x4's, it's an addiction I've been trying to cure myself of and now I'm enrolled in your pathfinder obsession, let's find this rig, get it done, so I can move on.

Thanks fellas, I appreciate the responses.

Trust me, I feel for those who've been sucked into this quest.

I'm thinking long term and if I find a Canadian rig that fits the bill I'd like to swap the instrument cluster to mph so it can be my son's car when he's old enough to drive. I'm assuming any decent independent shop could do the swap, but I'm sure there's other things that go into it that are out of my depth - like how a Canadian odometer tracks in km; I assume you'd need to adjust that for miles and how that's done is beyond me.

I've got a truck in mind, I'm trying not to jinx it or send the price through the stratosphere (or the reasonable bounds of what my wife would tolerate in lieu of funding the 528).

My Jeep Wrangler is a 2014 Canadian rig where the literal only differences are a kph speedo, daytime running lights, and no backup camera. When I bought it, I didn't have to change the cluster because it had MPH in smaller font on it. Supposedly the letter of the law is you have to change if there are no mph markings at all. I haven't verified that from the dealer, but I have had no problems registering or inspecting it ever.

Anything over 25 years old and you will be totally fine.

I would be surprised if the current speedo did not already have small print MPH. The large print MPH has better utility in the US but swapped odos raise eyebrows even if it is nothing nefarious. Finding a good quality example may also be a challenge given they are out of production.

I imported a truck from Canada and have lived with the small print MPH. I'd prefer large print but it's fine all things considered.

    LOL.

I'd have a PPI of course to inspect for any Tim Bits lodged under the seat.

I'll also expect to spend an inordinate amount of time at 4 way stop intersections just waving people by for hours.

Your kid needs to learn the metric system anyways. And seeing as how the fucking idiots in this country just will not give up the imperial system, this will give him a good chance to learn how to do conversion rates so he can fit in with the rest of the world.

I think resale whenever it comes down to it is going to be a problem on my Jeep, because the odometer is also in km and reads way high.

But yes, he will learn km to mph very quickly. I actually kinda like it. I'm doing a buck forty on the highway!
