    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers

Ammo can stove surrounded by firebrick in a metal toolbox bolted to the removed rear seat mounts and double wall stovepipe. Works best with BBQ charcoal. It gets cold in Space.

I can’t decide whether I’m more impressed by the mileage or the stove.
My old suburban is closing in on 300k

But a stove vented out a side window? Fkna that’s awesome

Any Seattle Mags get up to Chilliwack, BC?

This rig has a lot of the boxes checked but I can't tell if its a rustbucket from the pics.

Wish I could check it out Bmills but I have some heavy travel this next month. Likely a mag way closer than Seattle tho I’d bet.

Any Mags near Harrisburg, PA? I got a hot one that I'm nervous to share but the seller is being kinda coy ("too many mods/original parts to list; come see it") and the low posts/friends on FB Marketplace has my bullshit radar on alert.

Seller won't share VIN, doesn't have undercarriage/frame pics and is dodging basic questions that are typical of a long-distance over the internet sale. I'd like to just write it off as a scammer but I think the car is real and this guy is just an asshole from bumfuck PA who doesn't know what he's doing.

Where's the Mag who did the ninja camera lens recon mission? I need that guy or someone with his skillset to go and look at this car for me or at least let me know what kind of a knob the seller is.

Finally got the guy to send me additional pics, I hadn’t seen the driver side or back of the car in his listing, he only sends pics of the back of the car which shows the decal badging has been replaced by gold lettering, clearly not a factory option, and a gold tipped exhaust. Of course the paint doesn’t look nearly as good as in his other pictures. Whatever, on the hole it looks like a great example.

That said after multiple requests, he still hasn’t sent pics of the driver side of the car, won’t share the VIN, evidence of a clear title, and only just after multiple requests confirmed that he did not change the timing belt.

I don’t know if this guy from East Bumfuck is just your typical hilljack who’s afraid of the outside world and thinks that everybody’s out to get him on the Internet, or watched too much Alex Jones online, but the amount of teeth pulling I’ve had to do to get basic information even while explaining to him this is how online car sales work and I’m not being an asshole has been excruciating and really turned me off on the prospect.

Did you think finding a unicorn would be easy? The adventure is in the journey, not the destination. What if hill jack holds the keys to castle and after meeting, you two form an eternal bond and lifelong friendship forged over the love of unicorns…err…Pathfinders. I’d call that a twofer and weirder shit has happened on TGR. Stay persistent. Your fortune cookie says “Those who take the path less traveled will find what they seek”.

Bmills - are you getting more focused on this now? It seems like there have been better options the TGR collective have found in the past - - IOW not rust belt crap, but instead finds from California, for example.

Look on FB marketplace, searching based in central CA. There's several.

Tried to quote individual posts, multi quote, and neither work. They all for some reason quote Core Shot's post from the top of the page. (Loving the new forum updates Box Fan Andrew!)

    Anyway in order:

Conundrum: No, I did not expect this to be easy that's part of the fun - the pursuit. That said, the seller on this one that I've been trying to deal with:

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...39654388525493

has been so stupidly ridiculous I've given up on it as real. He has 3 FB "friends" so who knows if it's a Seller 'burner' account or a fake account. Either way so far after multiple requests he will not provide: 1. Pictures of the driver's side of the truck, 2. a VIN, 3. evidence that the title isn't fucked, and 4. what he has provided has been with an attitude and suspicious of my reasonable questions. Fuck him. That said, the interior, if real, is as clean as they get and I'm all over it. The exterior looks shiny and new in his listing, but when he did provide two pics of the rear the paint was faded grey and looked like it had been rebuilt given the "custom" badging and misaligned trim panel.

    Chup:

Yes, I don't know why I bang my head against the wall for something in a rust belt zone. I'm clearly not well by having this pursuit in the first place, no?

That said, I don't know why my autotempest search doesn't ever give me the marketplace results you seem to easily find; I really appreciate you sending them along when you do.

Your first listing up there is a no bueno for me - not an SE, not a 95, and missing the spare tire rack; but the interior looks good and the body is straight so it is a candidate in that right.

Your second listing, despite not being a 95 has my attention. The miles, SE trim (w chrome package!) and general condition are enough that I've reached out to the seller - thanks mang!

I feel your pain tangentially as I’m on the sort of hunt for an early 2000s Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ. I’ve had my current one since I bought it new but my mechanic has been telling me to get rid of it because of the rust its acquired for years. I’d like a back up before it dies for good. I’ve def encountered a couple of shithead “sellers” like you that get all weird when you ask legitimate questions esp when the vehicle is not close enough for an onsite visit.

I think we should add these sellers to the TGR pain listserve and pummel them w enquiries.

The seller above stopped responding completely to my simple inquiries (can I see pics of each side of the car, not just one?) and dropped his price. I'm guessing he's full of shit on what he's got.

    Isn't that the fucking truth.

I've got what I consider to be the dream whip. About as close as you can get to my old Assfinder listed for sale on FB MP about an hour and a half north of me. Guy promises pics never comes through. Says he gets so many inquiries he can't keep up and I need to come ready to buy.

OK guy, you want me to ride up to the sticks of North Georgia with a wad of cash in the hopes it's real? Pass.

I've had a buddy even drive by where we think the car is located only to tell me there's just an RV in an open air barn where the car should be from the few pics online.

    scammers and shitty sellers suck.

Yeah shitty buyers suck too. I keep hearing/reading about people go to meet at a public spot, sell the car, get the paperwork all signed and cash exchanged then they get rolled and the cash gets stolen back. Paperwork is signed, the car is gone and they're beat up. That's why I sold Dad's Benz to Carmax rather than making the extra $4-5k on a private sale and why I went to a dealer to buy even though it isn't a CPO
