Jerry wanted wanted a yes-man he can control. Jerry likes to get involved in personnel and coaching decisions.

I hate to say it, but its likely gonna get WORSE before it gets better.

The only way they get out from under it, is to do something like trade Watson PLUS a 1st round pick (and likely agree to eat ~1/2 his salary) to the Panthers or somebody like that who has a ton of cap space and a horrible "rebuilding" team.

    Goes like this:
    - a quarter of a billion dollars in fully guaranteed money (highest ever in football)
    - has played fewer than half the team games since then (injury and suspension)
    - will have the highest cap hit ever sometime in the next couple of years
    - traded 3 first round picks, 1 third and 2 fourths, which may be the highest price ever for a single player
    - currently ranks approximately 660th or worse among 680 or so qualified QBs since 2000 in almost every category
    - worse that all but one QB this year in almost all categories
    - second worst regular starting QB in 25 years. After Jamarcus Russell. (and is maybe worse)
    - both QBs they cast off to start Watson are in the top ten statistically this year (Flacco/Mayfield)
    - has led the offense to be the only one in the last 25 years not to top 300 yards or 18 points in the first 6 games
    - has never thrown for 300 yards for the Browns
    - has not thrown for 200 yards in any of the first 6 games this season
    - 24 allegations of sexual misconduct or assault, all settled out of court
    - 1 recent allegation of rape, settled out of court

    Worst
    Trade
    In
    History

    Might never be topped.

Also, if you want an incredibly detailed explanation of why Watson sucks at football, here you go:

My god the Browns are a total, unrivalled, incomprehensible, indescribable shit show. It's dizzying.
It takes a special kind of ownership to make the deal that they did for all of whatever the fuck THAT ^^^ is.

Years from now they'll be sitting around the bar telling stories at the owners' meetings and without fail an elderly Jimmy Haslam will chirp up from the corner with his annual "hold my beer" moment and his retelling of how historically awful his deal for Watson was.

Hope it was worth it, Jimbo.

not a McCarthy defender.. but Green Bay seems to come up short even after McCarthy left.

Some of that is definitely a Rodgers problem. They finally overperformed a bit last year.

The 2014 loss to the hawks caused irreparable damage I think

I believe Aikman’s words were, “like a preseason game”

    Rodger’s is looking old.

Watching Rodgers doing the post game media stuff, give him credit for saying that the refs made some bad calls, including the roughing the passer penalty on the Bills.

Are we really going to be subjected to another (sub)prime time Jests game this coming Sunday night?

The NFL was not satisfied with the ROI they got from having the Jets on primetime TV six (6!) times last season, so they think running it back will really start to endear them to the fans this season.

The Bills better do something about their horrible defense first.

There it is, Davante Adams traded to the Jests.

What a shitshow. Kaaron will be lucky to make it through the Steelers game in one piece.

Let’s hope they flex another game instead. Probably not after the trade for Adams.
