What brake on the bandit for a Kendo 88? Stretch an 80, or go 95? Does anyone besides 22D know?

I would go 80. For my outlaws I have 95mm brake on wren 102, 110mm brake on Jeff 110 and 110mm brake on Jeff 118.

May just be a personal preference but I like the brake to be as close to the boot as possible and away from hanging out too far.

I’m sure you can bend the brakes 4mm each side with no trouble but you might find they stick out at a weird angle and actually get more in the way than a wider one that’s not bent, or not function right if you don’t bend em properly and fuck up the mechanism

Wondering if Scarpa bumblebee T1s 25.5/26.0 will fit in Small Vices. 22D says small is up to 25.5. Anyone here know for sure if 26.0 will work? I'm only intermittently freeing the heel, hence I lack the wisdom of the hard core fulltime tele experts here. Thanks!

Also, for those with inserted skis for 22 Designs the Bandit puts pin line/tech toes line 1.3 cm forward of the Outlaws. Just something to be aware of, but it's largely why I am not going to be picking them up right away.

Charles my note in gear swap about just being able to swap the heel tubes is apparently wrong. There is a bit more to it to convert small to large and Vice versa (pun intended)

So according to the FAQs on 22D’s site. Boots slightly larger than a 25.5 will fit a small Vice. You’ll just have a bit of less spring travel than with the large. They will feel more “active,” but you also have 3 pin settings to dial back the activity if they are feeling too stiff. My take is that you’ll be fine w a 25.5/26.0 Scarpa shell with a small Vice but I wouldn’t say the same for a 26.5/27.0.

I welcome any feedback from anyone that has actually skied this combo. I am a 26.5/27.0 and larges are great. Never tried a small.

Posted my Question about brake size to 22D and the reply is:

I would go with the 95's, they should still retract over the top sheet.

The brakes retract 12mm on each side, if that helps.

You can always bend the brake wire in slightly if you feel that you need to.

If you're talking NTN, 26.5 and up go with the large bindings. Same as the prior generation of TX Pros/Comps

It's an easy fix, though I have no idea why that would be the problem. Nonetheless, I'd either add the inner yellow spring or reverse the screw.

I didn't know that the middle spring needed to be left in - I better check to see if I did that on my boards!

A little late to getting the news and man I am so sad. I am so fortunate to have been able to work alongside Paul during my time at Garmont and with Marmot/K2 Tele as well. He was a visionary and leader of the sport in terms of product development, always tinkering and looking ahead wrt boots, liners, skis and bindings. I learned to tele on Tua's right as I entered the outdoor industry and he was a mainstay for me.

I looked up to him and learned from him. I will never forget his contributions to tele and then later, the AT world. RIP Paul
