This should be no surprise to anyone with any kind of vacation home--any time there's company staying more than a couple of days wife gets out the puzzle on the dining room table, the womenfolk work at it halfheartedly and you spend the rest of the week eating from your plates in your lap.

Flipping through channels yesterday I came across a college football game with a 9th year senior. Time to graduate and get a job.

Bought a 10-time pass at the local gym in 2020 pre-Covid. They're old-school and keep the passes in a little card box at the counter. Went a few times, then the world ended and we moved to Spokane. We just moved back to PDX (much easier than changing my handle) and I dropped by to check if they still had my card. They flipped through their card box for a bit, then looked up "Here it is. You don't come here very much, do you?"

Guy I do a bunch of work for is buying some construction equipment. A scissor lift and a skid steer. He texts me he's thinking about getting skid steer with tracks. I reply they're great and lower impact etc etc. Downsides are cost and not being able to chain up for winter. His reply is " well if it's snowing we should be at the ski hill anyways"

Road kill in the truck grill.

While zoning out driving through Kansas we were startled as a turkey vulture's ass banged into the windshield. I saw it fly up past the left rear. I did not see anything on the road prior and it must have flown up from the side trying to lift some 'heavier than anticipated' road kill and timed it poorly.

At the next gas stopped, I gagged as I went to pop the lid and pour in windshield washer fluid. There were all kinds of rank, stringy meat and guts in the left side of the grill and some inside the engine compartment. Fortunately, there was a car wash near by.
