The bed is actually 1.5" longer on that 4th gen Tacoma compared to the 3rd gen short bed. Still ridiculously short though. Longest skis you could put back there without going diagonal is about 150cm. Corner to corner is over 200cm, but the wheel wells get in the way.

Hood length is the same on 3rd and 4th gens, but the 4th is taller.

Yeah, that jumped out at me too. It's like having a Let's go Brandon next to a Greenpeace sticker.

Absolutely. 2nd gens have the largest engine. 3rd/4th hoodline is cosmetic. They all have the same bumper beam from 2016 to 2023.

This is exactly the information I needed to hear. But that’s also why for my fantasy Tacoma I’m building an access cab with the 6 foot bed. What’s with the 4 door pickups, surprised we haven’t had 6 doors yet with a 3 ft bed - but god forbid you put a 196’ person in the backseat, sheesh.

GL -it did the job - loaded with all sorts of things as you could imagine. My first request at the rental agency was for a tonneau cover -very functional….. Click image for larger version.

Traveling from Germany to North Bend WA is a long way to go, even if it's for a damn fine cup of coffee. And a slice of cherry pie.

    Duuuude....what happened to your truck?

When I worked for a logging company one of the guys had a tree fall on the bed of his truck. Everyone knew what happened, but asked anyways just to piss him off.

That Continental is the cats ass. It's so fucking ugly it's beautiful. Some tire chains and a ski rack on the hood. Perfect.

This is what every half ton looked like from my Impreza (rip).
Trucks are killing people and a big part of it is the hood height. And a lot of that is purely cosmetic. You can't see all the school children in front of your vehicle because 'merika, fuck yeah.

If you were a Tele skier in the late ‘80’s, you probably shuttled in one of these. Ours was known as “The ATM”
