You might be wondering if all cops in the town where the Mississippi Goon Squad operated in are all Goons, or just some of them. Here is an example of a cop from that town who was not a Goon, but is still a goon. Remember, this is one of the GOOD cops in that town.

It’s part of police training. When having a friendly conversation with a relaxed citizen, always aim your gun with lethal intent to prevent any escalation.

And if the person seems harmless, shoot to kill

I don't get it. The cop knows the body cams are on and he shoots the woman in cold blood?

    Police Behaving Badly

I had a sgt tell me yesterday that his job (in sf) is more dangerous than his tour in falluja. Said without a trace of irony while he was responding with five other cruisers (10cops + fire dept)to our quiet neighborhood for a kid left locked inside a car while his mom was talking to granny. Super sketchy !!!

Cops have been killing black people in cold blood for years. The most shocking thing about this is that he was found not justified in shooting and is charged with murder. If this goes to trial I guarantee some police use of force expert will take the stand and testify that he was justified to kill. Before body cams he definitely is still wearing a badge.

Looks like SFPD hasn’t had an officer killed since 2006 (which is great!). But I’m pretty sure that makes it safer than Fallujah.

I think they’re being trained to believe that their lives are at much higher risk than they are in actuality, leading to them panicking and shooting in ‘self defense’ when they’re not in any danger. (Not necessarily here though.)

Kinda of a similar overreaction with Fentanyl too.

That’s absolutely the case w training for the last few decades. Watch an old episode of Adam12 and you’ll see Reed get an earful for shooting at a bad guy and not being sure no civvies were in the crossfire. Obviously TV but very revealing in portrayal vs now on some bullshit procedural

Sandra Hemme has been freed after spending 43 years in prison in Missouri for a murder committed by a cop. She went into prison at age 20, and left at age 64.

The Judge issued an 118-page order saying she is innocent. Afterwards, the Attorney General called the warden and prevented her release. The Judge even had to threaten the attorney general’s office with contempt to get her released.

“Evidence directly” ties a former area Police Department officer to the crime, according to the Judge. The cop had the victims earrings in his possession and his truck was seen in the area the day of the murder, his alibi could not be corroborated and he used the victim’s credit card after he said he found it in a purse in a ditch.

A cop tried to get on the roof to confront Trump's shooter but dropped off when the shooter pointed the gun at him. I guess it's only Secret Service who is supposed to take a bullet. I would probably have dropped off too.

The cops involved belong in the POS humans thread. However, they are not human.

Not gonna lie, when this came out I totally thought Tyreek brought it on himself (he has a history of dumb police encounters). This is pretty blatant power tripping and I hope he sues the fucking piss out of them and donates it to charity.

"Keep your window down," the officer told him, tapping on the glass. The officer paused for about five seconds and looked around. He told Hill again to keep the window down or "I am going to get you out of the car. As a matter of fact, get out of the car."

After the officer ultimately asked Hill to exit his vehicle, Hill then said, "I'm gonna get out, I'm gonna get out." As the officer opened door, and removed Hill, the receiver said, "I'm getting out!" At that point, another officer grabbed Hill by the back of the head and neck area and forced him to the pavement to place him in handcuffs.

The officer who forced Hill to the ground kept him in place with a knee to Hill's back, telling Hill to "stop crying."

"When we tell you to do something, you do it, you understand?" the officer told Hill. "Not when you want, but when we tell you. You're a little f---- confused."

Hill was escorted to the sidewalk and told to sit down, to which Hill replied that he recently had knee surgery and asked the officers to "hold on." The same officer who pulled Hill out of his vehicle, who was not the closest officer to Hill, then rushed toward Hill, wrapped his arms around his shoulders and forced him to the ground again, at one point placing his hands around Hill's neck.

The officer was skeptical of Hill's surgery.

"Oh really? What a coincidence," he said to Hill. "Did you have surgery on your ears when we told you to put the window down?"

He was a douche with the whole window thing -especially the roll up; that will get you lit up if they can’t see you - but then cops gotta make it even worse

I was watching a 60 minutes show about the firefighters who went into and up the WTC towers on 9/11 without hesitation. I compare them to all the police who shoot unarmed people when they feel even the slightest threat. The police do not come out well in the comparison.

Everyone should be required to do a day or more of ride-along with police to maybe get a sense of danger they face on daily, otherwise "benign" traffic stops. This might add a little compassion for police and the challenges they face.

It's not an excuse for police violence, but there are two sides to the picture.

Firefighters don't enforce the law (except fire code), and don't face violent criminals, so one would expect them to be seen as "heroes" for rescuing the cat outta the tree. Firefighters (some) also treat frequent flyers quite poorly, and sometimes outright violently, when nobody is looking. They are just as jaded as cops in a sense. I worked EMS long ago, and saw what happens when nobody is looking.

Yeah - to me this was a douche v douche situation

Some big open question to me:
    1. What spawned such a large police response - at least three motos and a cruiser. I read he was speeding - was it 85 in a 30, or 35 in a 25? And for how long had the cops lit him up before he stopped?

    2. Did they know who they were pulling over? I’m gonna guess Yes - it’s pretty easy to run tags.

    3. There’s reporting that Tyreek is well-known to police as a serial traffic scofflaw. May have adversely affected the cop’s judgment.

Even with those open questions, in this case the cops failed to remember that in most cases, time is on their side. Just be patient and wait the guy out - box him in or throw spike strips on both sides of the car to keep him there until he complies.

Not gonna look good when he’s late to the game because the cops pulled him over and he became a douche.

The other thing cops seem to forget is that when you have the superior force, the THREAT of force is a bigger psychological deterrent - once you deploy that force, your power diminishes.
