    From 2 days ago.

Timmy sells guns, hundreds over 3 years, suppressors too in several states. But he isn't an FFL.
They find 33 firearms and 217 silencers at his house. Without paperwork.

He never does a background check.

He also voluntarily agreed to pay over $190,000 in restitution to the Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loan payments and only get one count even though he sold multiple guns to ATF agents.

He got 30 months, so he will be out in 18 and selling again shortly there after?

Why are we so soft on crime?

If you wana own a gun thats what you gotta do up here ^^ a 1 weekend course to get your firearm acquisition certificate ( FAC ) just for the long gun, it was in a HS classroom so the instructor made a fake situ out of some desks as if you were crossing a fence on the hunt this is how you are suposed to handle your long gun

If you wanted the hand gun FAC its a separate course to the long gun course so it makes the course a bit longer and you pay mo money, keep in mind I was in a town where people hunt and there are not many hand guns up here

I don't own or use guns but junior was 14 and into Biathelon so we both did the long gun course, I seem to remember junior got 100% while some of the mouth breathers failed it

Perfectly normal. Not at all weird. Should be celebrated. Anyone who thinks this is stupid must hate Freedom[emoji769].

In addition to the course (it hasn't been an FAC for 20+ years) you submit to a background check and must provide at least 2 references. Any criminal record, divorce/breakup or mental health issues must also be reported. Once you have your firearms license you are background checked every morning and at most interactions with law enforcement. You must also present your license to purchase firearms/ammo and recently they have added reloading components as well.

    Now that^^^ is fuckin funny.

Another responsible gun owner created our town’s first gunshot injury in years
A man identified as a 37-year-old transient accidentally shot himself in the leg earlier this month in Sisters.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office reported that at approximately 10:27 a.m. on July 7, deputies responded to Ray’s Food Place in Sisters to a report of an accidental gunshot wound. Upon arrival, they located the involved red 1997 Chevrolet 1500 pickup parked on the south end of the lot.

Deputies located the driver seated on the tailgate of his truck. The man was being attended to by a citizen, who was holding onto a makeshift tourniquet to control the bleeding to a gunshot wound to the man’s left shin above the ankle. Deputies applied a DCSO-issued tourniquet to the injured man’s left leg and applied pressure bandages to further control the bleeding.

Deputies learned that the man exited his vehicle with his blackpowder .38 caliber revolver secured on his belt. As he exited his vehicle, the revolver fell on the asphalt and discharged into his leg. This was later confirmed by the passenger, who was exiting the vehicle on the passenger side at the time of the gunshot.

Medics with Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District arrived on scene approximately five minutes later and took over medical treatment. The injured man was later transported by medics to St. Charles in Bend.

Probably a felon. One can still own muzzleloading/black powder firearms as a felon.

Another bad faith slippery slope lawsuit trying to endanger more people by removing common sense rules around firearm access

Naturally, it’s an out-of-state gun cult advocacy group trying to undermine voters’ will

    Another responsible gun owner

And our little town is experiencing a rash of gunshot incidents lately. First, the guy that shot himself when his pistol fell out of his pants and discharged.

    Now…
A 23-year-old Sisters man allegedly fired a pistol repeatedly as he rode his bike home from a Sisters bar in the wee hours of Friday, August 9.

The escapade landed him in jail facing charges of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, reckless endangering, and driving under the influence of intoxicants.

There’s another guy who rides a three wheeled bicycle around town with a cutte & Vietnam Vet ball cap and strapped with a single action revolver.

So fucking tired of this shit. I'm heartbroken for those families that don't get to see their kid, or their parent, come home today because we can't get our shit together as a country and say enough is enough. I get sick to my stomach imagining if that was my situation, knowing that the last time I'd see my kid was dropping him off at the one place where you're supposed to be safe outside the home.

Yep, it’s just horrific. New school year, same old story. RIP to those poor kids.

You should tell the loved ones of these dead kids all that. Tell them “you don’t care about all the kids who died in car accidents”

What an illogical and misguided response. Why don’t you tell us how many kids drown too. That will really drive home the point that these school shootings are just an overblown nothing burger.

Not really sure who you're responding to... but my response (and MS's as well, I'd guess) are dripping with sarcasm that perhaps isn't apparent.
