yeah, so many people are crying about the show you would think every other SW wasn’t completely stupid.

List of probably objectively good SW:

    OT trilogy
    Rogue 1
    Andor

everything else is full of holes and stupid but somehow this thing is the worst SW since the xmas special? i don’t get it. If you really are so bothered and unable to suspend some disbelief by a fire in space or a stone castle how can you watch the rest?

Anyway, I think 3 was better than the first two but SW is “dead” now.

    Cry more on YT, losers.

Hahaha. That's actually a pretty good point. The Star Wars Holiday Special was SOOOOO dumb. I remember watching that as a kid being like "WTF are we watching"? I haven't watched this new series everyone's so worked up about so I'll withhold judgment. I remember the first couple episodes of Ahsoka also being kind of stupid BUT they got their act together by the end where I actually ended up kind of enjoying it. We'll see how it goes with this one.

When the haterz videos are more entertaining than the show itself, its time for a change.

Ok, so the wifey and I just ended up with a sub to Disney+ and I'm thinking about starting to watch the glut of Star Wars that is out there. Where do I start? I've seen all the movies, but haven't seen any of the newer TV episodes(does Droids count as cannon?).

    Andor!

After that (distant second, really) Mandalorian.

Maybe catch the other shows if you have things to do at the same time. I have shows I watch with focus, then I have shows I half-watch while doing things like cleaning kitchen, surfing on my phone, working out, etc.

Should I just watch Andor or start there and work my way through? Don't follow the timeline?

Honestly release order works pretty well for all of the newer live action TV stuff.

Book of Boba Fett fits in between seasons 2 and 3 of The Mandalorian and are pretty heavily connected.

Andor, Kenobi, and Acolyte are all fairly independent.

Ahsoka connects a little bit to The Mandalorian but is really set up mostly by the animated shows Clone Wars and Rebels.

I haven't really watched most of the animated stuff so there might be other connections I'm not aware of.

Some shows/seasons/episodes are better than others but like all things Star Wars it's highly debatable. Personally I enjoyed all of them just some more than others. I'm easily entertained.

This works. I would add that the Andor and Mando seasons 1 & 2 deserve the most attention and, if you want to be prepared for Ashoka with minimal time investment, you could just watch the first couple episodes of Rebels season 1 and then jump to the last couple episodes of the series- just enough to get to know the characters and where they left things.

I see them as seperate branches:

    Original Trilogy --> Mando 1 & 2, Book of Boba, Mando 3

Prequil Trilogy + Rogue One --> Andor (mandatory)

Clone Wars Animated Series + Rebels --> Ahsoka (I really liked Ahsoka, but it was only because she was a favorite from the animated series), Kenobi (Clone Wars Animated cements Obi's character arc and it makes episode 3 hit like a mack truck, I didn't love Kenobi though)

Hot pile of dogshit + a dumpster fire --> Acolyte
Wait, how can we trust this guy^^^ He's clearly not DJSapp

    Mandalorian

The entire clone wars animated series would be a lot to watch. I know there are some websites that can recommend the key episodes. Definitely the last few episodes of the last season are important.

Rebels and Clone Wars are both good, but have plenty of filler so probably best to use the guides. I watched with my son, so have seen them all, no pl;ans on rewatching Clone Wars, but did rewatch Rebels with him mostly.

Andor is great, but also really different than normal SW

Mandalorian S1 and Andor are the best of the TV shows. Rogue 1 the best of the movies.

So I've been working my way through. I've watched Mando, Ahsoka, and Boba Fett. I started the Bad Batch, but quit after the 2nd episode.

The Mandalorian was pretty decent, but some episodes definitely had a larger budget than others and some of the writing was kinda meh.
I enjoyed Ahsoka more than I was expecting to. The loss of Ray Stevenson is huge, he could have been a great character in the future. I will watch season 2.
The first couple episodes of Boba Fett were good, but it felt like they didn't have enough stories for an entire season and they had a few story arcs that didn't fit into other shows, so they shoehorned them into BF.

I still plan on watching The Acolyte and Obi Wan even thought hey got bad reviews. Andor is last on the list.

Same! First couple episodes were annoying so I understood some of the initial bad reviews, BUT after the writers got their footing I guess, I ended up having a good time with it. Ray Stevenson definitely stole the show as Baylan Skoll. Shame we lost him. RIGHT when things were starting to get really good too. RIP.

Skip Acolyte (cancelled) and Obi Wan (cancelled). Go straight to Andor. Easily one of the best, most engaging TV series I've ever seen. Hope I'm not overselling it, but it was fantastic. Diego Luna was a great casting choice.

I can't say I'm going to rank all the various shows/movies but Andor doesn't break my top 3 (possibly 5). Maybe it was just the prison/prison breakout arc but I was bored for a lot of it.

I’ve said this before, but I really liked Andor, but it just got kind of tiring because every single other Star Wars thing has at least a hint of humor, and Andor didn’t.
I was watching a part of “rogue one” and even the robot was like “why did she get a blaster?”

Andor is Star Wars for people who don't like Star Wars.

Yes! I don't get it when people say Andor was the only thing worth watching. It was good, but not that much better than any of the other shows. I rewatched Obi Wan recently and I don't get the hate. And after a slow start, I even thought The Acolyte would have been really good in season 2, I liked where it was going.
