This ^^^^ is 100% accurate and how the tours operate. They literally surround the fucking humpbacks, it's pretty horrible really. That said, the humpbacks (at least in AK area) are no longer on endangered list and are literally everywhere. Same rules for Orca. The transient orca are usually on the move, and the boats follow them like stink on shit. They all communicate via radio with each other to find species of interest. If you're anchored and fishing for halibut, the giant whale watching boats don't give a fuck, and come pretty close, making huge wakes that is honestly sometimes dangerous when you're on anchor. Tourism is good for the economy, but it's a little outta hand up there.

    Sharks, man

Dolphins are world class assholes. Not sure how they got to be the cute ones and sharks are the evil ones.

It always makes me laugh that in Florida you’re not allowed to touch manatees, so you see videos of the manatees basically hugging a human who can’t react [emoji23]

I just imagine them going home to the other manatees like, “geez these humans are so aloof!”

Teen decapitated in vicious shark attack off Jamaica coast: ‘He went to sea by himself’

    https://nypost.com/2024/08/28/world-...jamaica-coast/

A 16-year-old boy was brutally mauled by a shark while swimming alone off the coast of Jamaica, marking an extremely rare attack for the Caribbean island, authorities said.

Divers found Jahmari Reid’s decapitated body Tuesday morning, one day after he vanished during his solo spearfishing expedition near the popular tourist town of Montego Bay.

The teen’s left arm was also missing and the remainder of his body was badly mutilated, witnesses told the Jamaica Observer.
Because rich has nothing to do with money.
