    They can do it!!!!

Damn, what a game. NED didn't seem themselves for most of the game.
Spain won't back down ever. Bring on Sunday.

Yes it was. Nothing like being up by 1 and really owning the game, and then deciding- fuck this, let's really make it interesting. Do it with 10.

You know, if we were to think really deep on this one...
USA couldn't beat Panama with 10, then they couldn't beat Uruguay with 11.
Uruguay couldn't beat COL with 11 v 10. Where does that put the US, strengthwise?

I'm sure a new coach will fix it all though.

This Colombia team is fun to watch too.

1-0 lead, a man down, and still playing like they’re enjoying the hell out of it.

Amazing intense match last night! Hopefully Colombia left some in the emotional tank for what should be another exciting game against Argentina. Colombia showed a lot of heart being able to defend for a whole half down a man and really should have scored another goal towards the end. Nunez couldn’t find the net last night and I’m guessing gets suspended for the 3rd place game after going into the stands to fight Colombia fans after the game.

Last night was a great physical soccer game! Looking forward to both finals!

Can coaches fix an entire national soccer system?

This does not require deep thinking.

i am, for no particularly defensible reason, currently rooting for Pochettino. I understand and respect the arguments that he might suck. That's probably true. But still.

    Or maybe Zidane.

Probably Renard or Low would be best though.

The speed at which Klopp shut down any idea of him coaching the USMNT was neck-breaking.

He was reputed to be making a total of $54m a year at Liverpool.

At this point I’d be willing to entertain Jason Sudeikis in character as Ted Lasso for the job.

That is, if Claudio Reyna doesn’t step up.

My brother-in-law is a soccer coach and he’s literally always complaining about the coaches from every single team. He’s like, “Who wouldn’t want the US men’s National team job?” And I’m like “Nobody wants that job. Why would you leave a high-paying European position to make 1 million bucks to coach some kids who suck?”
Actually, what I really said at the start of that comment was the quote from Spinal Tap and said oh, “What does it pay?”
Well maybe I'm the faggot America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda

Greg was making 2.3 mil or so when he was fired. Here's the list from the last WC in 2022. Based on G.B.'s salary going up since 2022 this list is likely a bit higher now. I think the US sounds ready to pay about 4 mil if necessary:

I mean, it is as close to a real life Roy Kent as we are going to get, and we NEED a Roy Kent, not a Ted.

I suspect his agent just politely chuckled and hung up the phone not even bothering Jürgen. The list of names they are trying to link to the US is delusional. Top club coaches make €€€ - Luis Enrique made almost as much a month last year as he did in a year coaching Spain.

How about Canada!? I was so bummed to see that tying goal in extra time, but those hockey players have stepped up their game.

Today will be a good day of matches.

England not scoring in that final sequence was brutal. Great match.
