OK, I feel better now that the telemark nation and free heel willies are not really fleecing the true core ski contingent of the globe.

Mine is blue Btw, don't bogart it.

They'll just offer you a toke. And we gave up on lighters when edibles became so widespread. And legal!

[ETA: and then we'll resume complaining about boots.]

Duckbill rider checking in. I bought new T4s this year for my cross country set up after the old leathers exploded 3 miles from the trailhead. I couldn't find a light boot that was nearly as comfortable. These compliment my 4 buckle T1s and green veggie oil T2s. The T1s only see action with the 189 cm Gotamas and are in great condition. The T2s are starting to get the rocker bottom like the blue ones before them. I'd love some new to me T2s in 28 as more folks graduate to NTN. Please let me know if your's need a new home.

Duckbutt rider but I've been using a TX-Pro/Maestrale hybrid in order to cobble together something I'd consider acceptable walk mode. Lynx/OutlawX for the quiver with inserts so I'll probably snag a pair of the new Bandits for resort riding.

    Telemark skiing is dead.

over the past few years that i've used outlaw x's, i've had a couple prereleases, which I have mitigated using that teflon tape (aka "shim tape") that 22designs sells to go on the top sheet under the "slide block." except, this does not seem to always work on my bibby's.

I still occasionally release from my bibbys. It's always in chunky/heavy deeper powder and i'm usually carrying some speed. I believe what's happening is that the front of the ski is flexing to the point where the slide block is not hitting the teflon tape when my foot is flat, I am therefore not getting the spacer gap and adequate forward spring pressure, and I am stepping out of the binding. i'm running red springs turned up to line #5 on those skis. anybody else gone through this? What am I doing wrong? should I add more tape?

I'm possibly thinking of switching over to an ntn setup i found, so will post what ive got if potentially anyone wanted to make me an offer on what i've got now. Located in Fernie BC but could meet up anywhere in kootenays or alberta, maybe montana

scarpa t-race 28 with intuition wrap, these are kinda bagged and some floppy buckles but could def still get a couple seasons out of them

192 salomon rocker2 122's with g3 enzo tour. in good shape, super fun!
186 volkl confession with axl. a little rough, not even any bad core shots they still run awesome. tele sooo good
188 RMU apostle older generation no bindings, i was going to mount with axls when the volkls were done

not willing to sell any bindings separate for now

btw the 2 best ever tele skis I've had, faction royales and volkl confessions, stiff, flatish underfoot with low rise tip and tail rocker. winning combo for the most giant sweet-spot

I'm sorry for giving up on duckbill but I think maybe what I need. I want more precise bindings for alpine style charging and tricks

Trying out Zipfit Sidewinders (with 5 extra tubes of cork) to make my ntn setup work. Hopefully the carpet test translates to real skiing because I was amazed at how much of a difference the liners made for keeping my heel locked down

Have you also skied scarpas NTN offerings? If so which ones felt like they have more width in the forefoot between Crispi and scarpa.

I have both Crispi World cups and Scarpa TX Pro, the Scarpas feel wider in the forefoot and overall more plush to me. I really like both though, although I was on alpine 80% of last season. Gotta get back to tele this year

I've skied both the Crispi WCs and Scarpa TX comps: the scraps definitely have more toe box room. I've got very tender, mis-shaped toes, and had to give up on the Crispis after 1 day.

    Thanks for the responses!

I was skiing the tx comp since I had the ability to actually try them before i purchased. But since im back on tele’s for the foreseeable future I’ve become more Crispi curious. But I have caveman feet (108mm) forefoot width and I really don’t want to do work to these boots for a fit.

Already pre ordered the tx pro, but might try Crispi and just have a demo for the tele curious out there.

Don't be tempted to punch out the Crispi toe box if it's too tight. While I know one person who managed to do it successfully, I know many more, including myself, who ruined the bellows by doing so.

    Still rocking the ducks.

I just don't ski enough to justify a whole new setup......

Though, I could use some new liners. My current (read: original) have a seam that runs right over my toe next to my big toe and on every turn it crushes the tip of my toe. It's bearable when touring so I haven't bothered to change. But I skied Mammoth (first resort day in years) after that May storm and by the end of the day my toes hurt so effing bad I could barely walk after.

I think new liners will help a lot with your problem ^^^

The new powder article describes a new tx comp coming out in 2025: https://www.powder.com/gear-guide/re...1sFgSXCuLieVVA

This \/ \/ is still a problem for me, prereleasing from outlaw x’s on my bigger boards (bibby’s) on deeper Tahoe conditions. Anybody have a solution that’s worked?

Have you contacted 22D and asked them? I had trouble stepping in to my Outlaw Xs and they sent me the tiny washer/spacers to install, which helped immensely. They told me to eventually ditch them; I'm guessing that the spring stretches ever so slightly, making them unnecessary. And maybe that slight stretch makes some setups prone to prereleasing?

Or posted on Dostie's site? That's the site for true tele gear nerd-dom, IMO.

Thanks, Danno. I hadn’t made the efforts yet that you mentioned for this recurring issue on my bibby’s. But I probably will….

Earlier on, I was experiencing the issue on a pair of mantras, I contacted 22D, they promptly responded and informed me about the tape on the top sheet solution, which has worked well for a few skis in my quiver, but not the bibby’s. When I previously contacted 22D, the bibby’s still had 75mm bindings.

Looking for some touring ski recommendations!

Last year I picked up a pair of K2 wayback 96's, with a pair of 22 design lynx bindings. Unfortunately I'm not very stoked on the skis. Naturally they're a lightweight touring ski, so I find whenever I'm trying to drive em, they have a tendancy more to buckle than hold. I thought I'd like the lightweight setup, but if I really need to shave grams, I prefer using an at setup. So I'm thinking of pulling the lynx's off and swapping the waybacks for something stiffer, and preferably wider.

I also have a pair of Deathwishs with outlaw x's (thanks BeHuWe), and those suckers are awesome!

    Anyone have any recommendations?

That's fucked up. Maybe this has been discussed a bit, but several questions: what springs are you using (double yellow, stiff solo, stiff with yellow), where did you set your preload, are you using brakes, which boots and size are you using, and binding size?

    -Tx comp 27.5/28.0 Shell
-Red (stiff) solo. Has occurred set at 3, 4, and 5 preload.
    -no brakes
    -L binding

I use the same bindings on my mantra m102’s with double yellow springs w/o problems (with the tape on the top sheet. Use the m102’s in a ton of different conditions, including the same conditions as to when I ejected from the bibby’s. I believe the bibby’s flex a lot more underfoot than the m102’s.
