Terrific conditions on Dakobed the last few days- decent re-freeze, lovely smooth corn, and way better coverage than I would have predicted back in April. Had a killer time, wish the weather held up longer.

    Sweet, riff.

Been expecting posts about skiing the high cones. Best skiing of the year!

Missing the Cascades right now man! Western MT foothills are super pleasant but no substitute. Post more!

Had some fun exploring NFS roads around North Bend today. A nice little drizzle to get the jeep back to its normal dirty state.

Took my first turns ever on the Daisy Chair, way back in the day. I can’t believe the rope tie is still there! At age 6, on a wet, rainy day that thing was my nemesis.

If I remember correctly, when I was a kid the Kehr’s chair had a different name?

Not the best pic but there’s still some snow up high.

It’s been a busy spring for me, i’ve kinda been struggling to line up good weather! It was so good to get up there though, and the conditions are fabulous. I hope Western Montana treats you well Norse!

Big Chief. It was renamed awhile back. The original 1964 double (was yellow for decades, then black) was replaced with the quad last summer. Some are referring to the new chair as Bigger Chief.

Went up Adams a few days ago. Skied the standard south route. Wind was cooking and temps were too cool for the chutes. Conditions were nice overall - smooth, clean, fast snow. Road clear to cold springs. Continuous snow begins just below the round the mountain trail.

Great corn on the CD yesterday. I was psyched to show my friend Jamie who's visiting from Colorado such good conditions on the local volcano. More info here:

I think it's only opened once in the last 4 years. I'm up in that area for work a lot when there is no snow on the ground and have been meaning to come back on a winter they are open.

    Nice pics Power_Sauce!
Unfortunately the wind today kept the upper mountain from softening so there was only a smaller stretch of corn before the schmoo of doom

I just got a new job and unexpectedly have the next few weeks free. Does anybody have a copy of Matt Gunn's Scrambles in Southwest BC guidebook I could buy or rent/borrow? I'm based in Seattle right now, happy to pay for postage. Never even been to Canada so this seems like a good time to do it. Is there anything that is still skiable up there? Also planning on in skiing here in WA next week if anyone wants to join.

Got a sweet lap on the White Salmon on the 4th. It was the fattest I've ever seen it, in what what was a pretty terrible snow year. Go figure. Seems like 1 PM is about perfect to drop off the summit. Should be good for a few more weeks. Click image for larger version.

Asking for a favor from the PNW crowd: has anyone successfully dealt with the Rehabilitation process with Canada after being refused entry? I'm looking to be steered to legal help in order to be able to get this taken care of.

I had a trip to Baldface planned for this past winter and had crossed several times in previous years, although not in the last 3-4. At the border I was asked to park and come inside where it was explained to me that a Reckless Driving from 13 years ago amounts to a felony driving charge in Canada and therefore I was being denied admission.

The only path forward at this point in Rehabilitation: is there anyone in here who has personally dealt with the process and can point me in a direction? I've looked into the details and feel like legal representation might be the best option. Thanks!

A friend and mentor who is an integral part of the White Pass team lost everything including their home and pets in the Rimrock Fire that started near White Pass. If you have the means to help with their recovery, please donate https://gofund.me/d9e49384

Fire season could get worse before it gets better in the PNW this year. Stay safe out there.
