have 3 days now on the fl113s. About 20” over 2 days on the mountain, on a hard crust. Holy cow, these skis are rockets! The pintail with the stout yet damp flex makes for a extremely fast ride when pointed down the fallline. They will make turns, but it’s a slarving game not carving. Soft snow is a key element to enjoy the ride. I did ski them back to back with my r120 and there a couple noticeable differences. The r120 will carve soft groomers much easier, the 113 wants to go straight. The flex on the 120 is definitely a notch or 2 softer but it’s not a comp ski. They both destroy chop but the 113 is more work. Overall I’m happy I have both.
This is good to hear. I've lusted after an FL113, but is sounds like the R120 is the better ski for me. Can't wait for it to arrive in the Fall!

Again, today in the swamp goo of a 60+ degree day, the C113 proved to be a center balanced pointem and go ski.
Yeah. with a little touch, they can slarve, but their strength is a directive carve, punching through anything in their way.

Skied 3 skis today, a pair of circa 2005 DPS Pinstripe Lotus 120s in a 190cm, the C113 in a 194 and ye auld trusty 200 cm circa 2007 DPS Black, bamboo sidewalled Lotus 120s.
It was warm schm00ey glop, firmer in the morning, oobleck level goo that would almost suck your boots off by 1:00.

I felt like the 190s weren't quite enough, easy to push and schmear around (we miss you mime), but grippy and easy to swivel.
The C113s sliced through the mank nicely, an easy and well centered sleet slicer for today. I really like the directiveness. Better on the firmer icy shaded stuff for sure. Trenchtown in the corn.
But the old faithful big, boards r00led the day, so poppy, lively and easy to shlear around.

From last January in the tool corner.

The 187 C113 is a stellar alpine bc ski. I can’t believe how good Marshals carbon build is, these skis feel way too damp on crappy exits, when hitting avy debris or on wind scoured sections.

Where did you end up mounting the C113s? Same as the FL113?

Would you do anything different a second time?

I don't have much to add other than I rocked my 187 fl113's in short-lived refreeze and all flavors of spring schmoo at mammoth on Saturday and had a blast. These are the spring chargers you are looking for

I will 100% echo this. I didn't get anywhere near as many days as I'd like this season but I got to ski the 187 C113 is pretty much every conditions and I haven't found anything that throws it off. Windcrusts were shockingly enjoyable at speed with the pintail that refuses to hook, and the ski feel really short in tight stuff or exits on summer trails. I got 2 glorious days of supportable pow, my all time favorite, and they are the perfect tool to really haul ass, as unflappable as the old Lotus 120 but much more manageable all around. I even got to test durability when I aired a small wind lip and landed 1' in front of a frozen death cookie. Right ski nailed it head on, my partner said it got launched 20' vertically on impact while I went for a 3 tomahawk fall, something I hadn't done in at least 10 year. That orange topsheet is great to locate a missing ski btw. Got a pair of the FL113 for next year as well.

Mine are mounted at -0.5, closer to the recommended traditional mount (-1) than the progressive mount. Seems perfect, can't imagine I'd feel the difference with another 0.5.

Any intel on if Marshal plans to open orders for the BC113 again? I'd about bust a nut ordering a set in the men's (194) size.

I have the RC85 on order now and want to add to the herd.

    Boissal,

I'm not sure I fully comprehend your tomahawk episode. I think you'll need to do a reenactment, but this time you need to have your buddy film that shit. Nothing brings a smile to my face like a story about tomahawks!

    And yeah, C113's kick ass

Yes, there are 4 other pairs out in the world, along with my pair. Any specific questions on them?

I'll do my best, I certainly ski stupidly enough that it's bound to happen every now and then but the body can't take too many of those hits. Made it home with 0 pain that day on account of eating it in great pow, couldn't move my neck the next day and my whole back was pissed.
Would have been a worthy clip though, I ended up sitting there without skis, poles, hat, goggles, and my pack was on its way off my back as well.

My FL113s are at -9.5 (this is a mistake, I need to remount, too much stiff tail)
My C113s are somewhere around -10.5, I reused some holes. I’ll double check in a few days. The mount on the C113s feels much more balanced.

I have about 20,000m of vert on the BC120 this winter. It’s an awesome pow touring ski, so light on the skin track, floats amazingly well (I’ve skied 100cm of 24hr pow on them). Stance wise you have to ski them a bit neutrally and not push on the tip too hard or they will move across the fall line. They have a bit of a speed limit in big alpine terrain(most touring skis do) but as long as you ski neutrally you can ski very fast. They’re an absolute blast in the trees. These work great with light boots too if you’re a F1 or skorpius fan.
Another big plus is they are very predictable on hard snow and crappy exits, something that a lot of other big pow skis struggle a lot with. They’re much better on the exit than for example the 191 renegade which I have also been touring on this year. Marshals carbon build is so dialed.

Well, I sure as shit promise to give it my best. My honor and standing with the kids is at stake. Hopefully the gopro stuff won't be too embarrassing.

That sounds like an excellent yard sale. Good that you were unhurt in the immediate aftermath

Says a lot that you think these have the chops of the Lotus 120’s (I know those skis that I sold to you some 14 years ago).

Well, went on a little recon mission today. Narvik is pretty sick. Even have a food shack with my name on it. The dude with the beer plans on Devs instead of 113s, and given the 3" of dust on hard windbuff, I'm bringing the FL105s tomorrow.

    TR to come.
