I hijacked my wife's phone during her colonoscopy and sent $2 via Venmo.

OK, the pool is closed. Here's what we got as of noon Pacific. Let me know if your name isn't there and should be; I'm going to head out to buy the tickets in about 20 minutes.

Iowagriz chipped in for an extra ticket, it goes to the first person who didn't join the pool yet and posts "Darn, I missed it!"

That would be the most insanely epic result of a colonoscopy. Would make it alllllll worth it. Speaking of which, I'm long overdue for the same but don't want to spend the $$$, so could REALLY use a win tonight. Haha.

Don't let $ be the reason. At least get a script for cologuard in the meantime. Shit in a bag is cheap. The potential impacts are too high.

Yeah, don't hold off any longer. Sorry for the tread drift, but I've lost 2 good friends to colon cancer who were by all appearances healthy and young (35-40). These days its cheap and easy and doctors offices will work with self-pay patients. Go, get it done.

Bravo. It's a lottery with much better odds that you don't want to win.

Have a 52 year old male ski friend with stage 4 colon cancer. He didn't catch it in time. Seriously, get it done! I did mine as soon as I could. As long as they don't find anything insurance pays 100%

Update on wife...she is home. Has to drink another gallon of go juice and try again tmmrw. Arggggg omg! I'd die. But she is drinking that stuff like a champ. She doesn't seem upset about the venmo violation. Let's go!

I got my first colonoscopy at age 31 due to family history. They always find polyps. Sometimes they say come back in 5 years, sometimes they say come back sooner because "that polyp was sorta weird". I'm 54 and I think I've had 7 scopes so far. I have another in the fall because, well, the last one had a polyp that was sorta weird. But, I get to laugh that they find weird stuff up my butt. So there's that.

Aren't preventative colonoscopies covered by insurance? I thought that was one of the few things the US got right.

(I know that diagnostic ones--ie when they already know something needs investigation--are not, and my last one was ridiculously expensive when considering the actual procedure time based on the doctors notes)

Yeah, the scope is a free preventative procedure, but if they end up finding and removing something then that part is a procedure and subject to deductibles.

Yep! VtFreeheel and Makers Telemark claimed the extra tickets from you and Powpig.

Let's win this thing so we can all get monthly colonoscopies
