I hijacked my wife's phone during her colonoscopy and sent $2 via Venmo.

Everyone got a ticket?
OK, the pool is closed. Here's what we got as of noon Pacific. Let me know if your name isn't there and should be; I'm going to head out to buy the tickets in about 20 minutes.
Iowagriz chipped in for an extra ticket, it goes to the first person who didn't join the pool yet and posts "Darn, I missed it!"

I still call it The Jake.
Have a 52 year old male ski friend with stage 4 colon cancer. He didn't catch it in time. Seriously, get it done! I did mine as soon as I could. As long as they don't find anything insurance pays 100%
Update on wife...she is home. Has to drink another gallon of go juice and try again tmmrw. Arggggg omg! I'd die. But she is drinking that stuff like a champ. She doesn't seem upset about the venmo violation. Let's go!

And another VT ski bum snuck in under the wire
I added an extra $2 in for someone as well. If it matters.
I got my first colonoscopy at age 31 due to family history. They always find polyps. Sometimes they say come back in 5 years, sometimes they say come back sooner because "that polyp was sorta weird". I'm 54 and I think I've had 7 scopes so far. I have another in the fall because, well, the last one had a polyp that was sorta weird. But, I get to laugh that they find weird stuff up my butt. So there's that.
Aren't preventative colonoscopies covered by insurance? I thought that was one of the few things the US got right.
(I know that diagnostic ones--ie when they already know something needs investigation--are not, and my last one was ridiculously expensive when considering the actual procedure time based on the doctors notes)
Yeah, the scope is a free preventative procedure, but if they end up finding and removing something then that part is a procedure and subject to deductibles.
