Trace fell overnight. 5cms new during the day but later in the day with clear skies to start the day. - 14 to - 11 throughout the day. Crossed the Battlefield then up to Gateway Col.

Did a low angle run into the Pearly Gates N off Gateway but the slope was too low angle given the 1m+ new. Gained Gateway again then did a line paralleling Serendipity halfway down the Norns. Then skied the two left Norns (Secret Lover and Wishbone) to valley floor.

Unbelievable quality of snow still with minimal solar and/or wind affectClick image for larger version.

Totally utterly clear. Moderate winds up high. - 15 during the day but we skied the Nasty Norn in sun to warm up. Feeling a hint of sun affect we then switched over to the Hilda Zone to find north facing shots.

Then ended the day with back to scheduled pow runs NW off Rampart Col

Minus 16 to start the day. Brrr. Quickly warmed up settling into -10s then -7 to end.

E facing still good even with sun on it. Some N faces up high at 2300 starting to feel WS.

Skied Honey Stinger, 2x Shield Laps with a bonus Hilda Bowl. Rampart Col to endName: 20240307_093225.jpeg

Mixed cloud and sun. No new snow. -8 morning, -3 at valley floor ( warm!l). Snow getting a minor crust on E aspects but still in fine shape on NW and N aspects.

Skied Burton Direct2, Hut Ridge to PoCo Couloir. Then finished with hut dongers

-5 to start day. -3 during the day. Weather stayed nice for rubs on PoCo couloir and the Ramparts. Storm coming in at 230pm just as scheduled and just in time for a series of hut dongers.

No problem. 4 of us heading for Japow next year in Hokkaido area for mid Jan to Feb. Know you're more in Northern Honshu area but we've got 3+ weeks so paths may cross. Have enjoyed and learned from your stories

Staying with locals + friends in area and looking forward to it

It really varies, depends on the outfit, weather and the group you go with. 3000'-6000' for an average day? Most larger trips have two different groups that head out with different objectives so you can choose the kind of day you would like...

Yah what alive said. BTW you should get on some of the last minute 50% off trips I email or post up here. I know being a good Dad and all but it'd be fun.

Hut of 12. We split up to 3 or 4 groups. So it varies but we don't do big groups touring together which is what guided groups seem to trend towards

I usually average 1500m - 1800m/ day with occasional 2000m days. Some people in my group will drop off with one lap to go. Some may do another lap. The day usually goes 7 hours.

This trip our first 3 days had heavy trailbreaking so it brought it down to 1300m avg. One maniac ( adimmen) averaged 2000m/ day with a last day 3000m.
