true. I reckon a pro-move these days, ever since the Epic pass overload shitshow, might be to just get one lap super early top to bottom, then head for coffee and wait until lines clear at 11 to head back up and find your pow stashes.

BTW. I had surgery a couple weeks ago, the first day of the snow's return, and haven't been skiing. So you can all thank me for the sacrifice. hah.

Been waking up early. Getting in line early and doing that. Works well for weekdays

I've heard a lot of rumours lately. Size 4 was what i heard from the grapevine.
Full burial for heli skiing with ExCan last week
Corona going 2.5, after being heli bombed.
Tree well fatality on Saturday on blackcomb
Remote trigger around poop chutes, on a line that had tracks on it from the day before, that took out timber and reached the rescue road prompting dogs looking for people. No involvement thankfully.
Just pretty scary/spooky shit in general that has me very keen to stay inbounds.

Jesus! good time to keep the beacon on inbounds.

yeah, I had also heard size 4.

lots of friends just brapping around the flats on sleds lately. still seems spooky.

Thank you for your service 🫡. Peak was great today when it cracked, in hindsight could’ve booted out a Flute lap in the meantime but it’s all good. Some wind effect but great turns down West Cirque to Xmas Trees. Ended up going to Khyber second lap, short on time, great snow down to 1300m or so where it started getting heavier, easy exit.

Miracle March, Magic March, Marchuary, March Madness …. well that was an epic few days. Was worried Peak was not gonna crack today. Felt like a weekend day with the crowds. Hoping to head up Wednesday before the temps go up, up, up.

I think I'm heading up early from the city tomorrow, if anyone is riding solo and wants to get some laps in. Will be on the darkside

I'll be coming up from Seattle for 4 days starting Thursday night. Any thoughts on if this weekends sunny and warm weather is going to bring a bunch of crowds?

80 hour work week through Sunday last week, handed report to client 10 minutes before deadline at 4pm yesterday. 9:30 am meeting this morning, but think my ski gear is going to be in the car today for a blast up the highway immediately following!

On the plus side you won't be waiting in the rain to upload this weekend.

I'm sure it will be crowded, but any more crowded than the last couple weekends? I doubt it without fresh snow.

Thanks for the responses! Was hoping to judge the crowds in comparison to the past few weekends with a lot of fresh snow. Sounds like it'll be crowded but maybe not quite as bad as it has been especially with all lifts open.

It'll likely be less crowded . As you say cracking all lifts spreads the crowds. Blackcomb tends to be less busy than Whistler

This week it is Ontario school spring break; followed by, for the next 2 weeks, it will be B.C. spring break. Plan accordingly.

My whole body is screaming for a break. My boss hates me, partner mad af, but that was one hell of a storm cycle. Got plenty of time now by the looks of it to get back in the good books.

@RidgeSkier the one issue you might find with the warm up is the alpine might shut due to avalanche hazard. Patrol are already pretty spooked by all accounts, so +10 in the alpine might not work out so well. Bring the sunglasses and rock the hair toque if you can!

ETA: Special thanks to JudoChop for the sacrifice. Hopefully back stronger than ever shortly

Question to the knowledge base here...
Divegirl is taking a friends weekend up there starting tomorrow evening. The condo only has one space so she needs an additional overnight space. In the past we've utilized the conference center (or it's been in April so we used the daylots) with no problem but that was before the pandemic. It is always showing full now on the site even mid-week. Is that accurate? And I read somewhere that you have to buy a ticket every day now?
Any other way to park overnight for 4 nights just leaving a car in it's place?

Can't confirm, but it always seems pretty full. My understanding is you can only park there 24 hours max, but could be wrong about that. Also not sure if that means you'd need to physically move the car or just go and repay at the machine.

There's a pretty good parking map here: https://rmow.maps.arcgis.com/apps/we...5c3a3bff328ead
It gives number of spots, height, price, max time, etc.

Woah, what a change in coverage. Feeders look in, even Count Chocula looks pretty fat, minus the slide in the run out.

Someone skied Phalanx to Poop direct (skiers left above convexity) this morning. Turns looked great. Snow was still cold.... for now

Went for a low angle skin past 7th to Body Bag to stretch legs and birthday skin with our adopted Seattle kid. We hung out in a flat spot watching S facing slopes and DOA fall apart and snow runnels + wet surface slides tear down the snowpack around us
