Lower east wall was open last saturday. It looked like they opened north pole for a little bit. Maybe today. I was up late and it was closed but there were a bunch of tracks. I just lapped pali like always.

    same thing I've been saying.

'cept in my case what I mean is:

hoarding my days to slide on snow late season and hope that Chef Alison has got BML pork BBQ dialed.
If we're gonna wear uniforms, we should all wear somethin' different!

according to the instagram north pole hike had a limited opening today with north pole, narrow north and 2nd notch. lower east wall has been opened a couple of times already on a limited basis. from what I hear willies hike is very close, so who knows it could get a limited opening before the next storm. maybe not though. y chutes had quite a bit of slide debris in them monday.

the mountain is skiing so good right now, so much fun yesterday. anyways here is some info regarding passes next year. honestly does not answer a lot of questions...

As we have said a few times, for now Arapahoe Basin is still owned by Dream. Until the deal with Alterra closes, there is a lot we do not know about the future. There are a few things we do know that may help some of you out.

A-Basin season passes go on sale March 21. We are still working on many details, but there will be an Arapahoe Basin only season pass. It will be priced very closely to this season's pricing. There will be Monarch days on the pass. As other passes go on sale in early and mid March, I hope this information is helpful.

Will there be an Ikon option with unlimited A-basin days?
If so, will Ikoners need to reserve days?
Will A-basin only sell a set number of A-basin only passes?
Will sidecars still be a buck?

    Come on Al!

I mean i was planning on buying an ikon in addition to the abasin only pass next year just for traveling but now i need to know if itll all be on ikon or not. Blackout days? Limited number of ski days. Etc. since Abasin will be owned by Alterra, not just a partner, one would assume you’d get 100% but who the fuck knows any more?

Whatever. I only like skiing like a few runs at that place anyway. Maybe Ill start branching out more.

One way or the other, you Loc's should call a few Ski Togethers this season because next year will be different.

I ski most sundays guaranteed if anyone wants to take some laps. Im the wildly out of control dude that thinks he can ski trying not to puncture his pocket beers.

Cool, remind me and I'll do it. Between the weekday crew, the weekend crew and the powder days work is suffering but such is winter!

I’m there almost every Sunday, I’m also there almost every weekday.
Although, I’ll be traveling a bit this month. Probably more weekdays.

The gates at Len have been there, but yes I noticed they went up late this season, seemed to coincide more with the increased crowds and maybe the weekday pass restrictions?

All I know is they still can't figure out how to set up the Len lift maze. They keep moving the single line around and then have it converge at weird spots where most chairs end up being only 3-5 full on a busy day (I still hate that I'm a weekend off guy now, that's part of it). Then you get to the chair only to have 3 lifties standing there doing nothing to help. Last season they had it where they now have patrollers get in the line, and it worked way better at loading the chairs full.

RFID gates have been there for a few seasons. They were even scanning by hand at Lenawee before the gates were there a few seasons ago. Don't want people skinning up to ski for free.

But yeah, the location is weird this year, maybe trying to give people more time to form a 6 person group, which is always difficult on 6packs. I saw the same thing at Targhee a few weeks ago. Total chaos with no management, but eventually, by the time you made it to the chair, you usually had 4 or 5, sometimes even 6 loading.

I've always been a little skittish of the Steep Gullies past SG-1. Is there any mandatory air in any of the other SG's? I don't mind side-stepping or traversing out of a bad idea, but I try to avoid bootpacking out of a cliff...
