I would probably snag a pair of shorter C113’s without hesitation…

    Oh yeah!
I find that they get more playful as the snow gets more tracked out, giving the tip something to Rise Up Against (in Rage!)

Where are you mounted and what boots?

I’m on the 194, on the line at -11, Dalbello Lupo 130C with the spoiler

Money mount. I've tried -11, -10.5 and now -11.5. 304-307 boots, around 12.5 degrees forward lean. I liked -11 the most, but -11.5 is so close it's just splitting hairs.

I love chop the most with these on my feet, but not complaining about powder either. The terrain and snow in the last pic looks purrrfect.

I finally put a few runs in on the 194 FL113, a tiny bit of camber. Mounted at -11, skied with Lange Heritage xr9.

    Magic Carpet Ride

It's been snowing consistently today, putting down about 2" over 10" of leftovers. Temps and humidity are up and the old snow has consolidated into dense piles. The FL113 drifts cleanly through heavy chop with time-suspending calmness, like a 192 LP105 that doesn't suck in pow. This is a serious ski, a heavy weapon, it demands your attention but will revert to auto-pilot in open spaces with sufficient pitch. I need to find a tram.

Kai, I need to meet you down there one of these days for a little demo time. The 194's sound spectacular

Maybe a quiet day in March. There are a couple of other guys who ski here that have some HL's but they both have big feet.

Reading about the FL113s reminds me of a surfier, straighter Liberty Variant 113. I thought that ski was awesome.

Cool! I never got the opportunity to ski those, but they seemed right up my alley when they were on the market.

I'm on the 187s, mounted at or a few mm in front of the recommended line, and am in dobermans/zipfits. In tried skiing them with an aggressive touring boot (atomic hawx) and it just wasn't enough boot to make them go, or i'm not a good enough skier and I use heavy boots as a crutch.

There is a pair for sale on sideline swap for a reasonable price.

I appreciate the details, and am very happy at -11, and love the mega radius swooping groomer arcs at 50+, all the chop annihilation aside.
Mine have 2-3mm of camber on each ski still, with around 120k vert.

The boot choice is a real factor, you are right on with this.
I am seriously considering going back to a race bred 4 buckle overlap boot…and that was not in the plans after 2 achilles surgeries.
I’ve broken multiple cables and buckles on the Lupos from cranking the fuck out of them in order to get the necessary drive, and can sense this coming again.
-I have a full set of spares in my ski bag, from experience

Love these and the FL105!, very different yet complimentary skis, in the 190+ lengths.
-can’t wait for all the other HL skis set to arrive in my future

    Stoked for “needing” new boots!

    Fuck dude!
    Two Achilles surgeries?
    One was enough for me.

    Horrible back story?

    I don’t do anything half-assed…

    You are on this thread

I don’t think about the injuries at all anymore while skiing.
I am more limited in daily life than on skis.

I like Dalbello for the ankle buckle, but they are needing to be seriously reefed on to provide the necessary connection with the FL skis.

    Haha... memories.

Regardless of liner moulding, I still have heel hold issues on the bad foot, but I think it's mostly due to reduced ankle flexibility and not liner hold.

Since I changed to a more upright boot (mach1 lv 130), my skiing has been much better even though I'm older.

I did notice the c113 has disappeared off the HL website. Not a good sign. I love mine. So damp and smooth for a lightweight carbon build. The more I ski em the more I enjoy them.

I like them enough that as I heard the fl113 might disappear, I had Marshal send me a pair. Haven’t skied them yet but the anticipation is building

    Circling back here.
have 3 days now on the fl113s. About 20” over 2 days on the mountain, on a hard crust. Holy cow, these skis are rockets! The pintail with the stout yet damp flex makes for a extremely fast ride when pointed down the fallline. They will make turns, but it’s a slarving game not carving. Soft snow is a key element to enjoy the ride. I did ski them back to back with my r120 and there a couple noticeable differences. The r120 will carve soft groomers much easier, the 113 wants to go straight. The flex on the 120 is definitely a notch or 2 softer but it’s not a comp ski. They both destroy chop but the 113 is more work. Overall I’m happy I have both.
