Ping me if anyone else will be up and wants to make some turns!
I might try to ski a couple hours on Saturday or Sunday morning… tbd

we haven’t even discussed start time, rope protocol, or staffing for the new lift

lucky this year has lacked snow or someone would have had to think through the process

Creekside opens at 8:30. You won't need a ticket to ride it but, no issue with your iKon pass anyway. The other chairs start at 8:50 so you shouldn't have any problems getting in line. BUT, the early lineup will be long, especially since it's a holiday weekend.

Gonna be up at schweitzer in a few weeks with the family (wife and 2yr old). Haven't skied there in about 15 years, but skied probably 50ish days there in college. We plan to take advantage of the onsite daycare one of the days so the wife and i can ski together, but the other day we will probably split time watching the toddler. He doesnt ski yet so sledding, snowman building, hot chocolate, digging, walking on strapon skis, etc are in the cards. Any small sledding hills or places we should check out with him? We are staying on hill at a condo and probably wont make it down to sandpoint or ponderay except for groceries.

I'll be roadtripping solo through your zone next week. I haven't been to Schwitzer or Silver but have passes to cover both. Would love to meet up for a few laps. probably Thurs or Fri 2/19. - Tall old fart with bright green poles looking lost.

I don't know the mountain real well, but had some solo runs of goodness. Went to where the wind deposuted yesterday before Sunnyside chair fall line to lodge. Beautiful day.

    Heading north

I was at Silver this afternoon and can see why it is a special place. I would love to get back sometime with better conditions and visability. I'll be leaving Schwiitzer tomorrow afternoon to meet old friends in Canmore for the week. Where should I plan to stop for the night? Idaho? Canada? Is there something I should see or ski in between?

Cranbrook or Kimberly, if you don't want to drive through to Canmore. It's about a 5.5-6 hour drive so you may want just drive through.

Stay at Fairmont or Radium hot springs, maybe ski 1/2 day at Panorama.

Sorry I did not make it down to Silver to ride with you all. We had a great time up at the resort. I had some good turns on the Friday, but after that the focus was on the family. My son had multiple breakthrough days! He's FINALLY stoked on skiing. (I took 10 years...) My wife, picked up the pace towards the end of the trip. She ordered new boots on the way home! (I highly recommended going in to fit\try on, but hey, what do I know. It's a positive step none the less!) So for now, she's excited again about skiing. Stoked!!! Hope to turn with you all next time!

i'm going to go out on a limb and guess the Tzer boys have no recent experience with toddlers ....
ask the day care staff, they can probably point you in the right direction

    avoid Ponderay (just my opinion)

There's a tubing hill near the lodge. Also a bunch of kid stuff around including a daycare. Check with guest services, I'm sure they can point you to something.

I went to 49 and took 2 runs with a friend of mine. Heavy wet snow. My friends at Mt Spokane said it was great there. I’m going to Schweiter tomorrow to meet up with him again. I’m not too familiar with Schweiter on pow day so hopefully viz is good.
