    WWJS?

    forecast looking promising too

no need imo to add3.5-4.5 hrs each way to deal with crowds and sprawling ski areas.
platts is great for kids, one can keep an eye on said kid from top of freefall on down, give props and get ack on lift in one long shot. (can, not should)

hmm. would one measure depth on a steep slope straight down or perpendicular to trail angle?

either way, it's a nice bit of snow and 8 (or 13) inches more than fell in new england.

was eyeing catamount 2 days ago at 9-13" predicted.
today, they announced they would be firing up the guns tonite, as they barely got a dusting.

thus the title of this thread: relevant in november and in february.
We got about 8 inches of dense cream cheese on Cape Cod. Came down thick and sideways.
    Went sledding all afternoon.

Driving from New Jersey to Southern Vermont to ski an iKon or epic hill on president day weekend? It's what people do! Lots of people.

Mountain Creek.... season extending dump - the next 4 days will be freeze/thaw cycles with snow further out in the forecast. First chair if you like the corduroy part, but not necessary and you pay to ski till 9pm whether you would like to or not. Schools were closed today so compaction is pretty complete. Tillage will be light... the next 3 days should be in the gitsum zone if you get close.

All that snow went hydraulic instantly... quick wet glass smooth with a no crunch bite, willing, compliant, non reactive. On edge - not something to push around. _skiingisfun_

I had hoped this storm was going to hold a more northerly line and follow it too. Platty exists in yesteryear, rarely disappoints and has snow in the forecast. Did it get missed to day?

^^Non-forecast snow all over VT. We even ended up with a few inches in BTV. It might even be enough for a lap at the golf course.

Wind is picking it up off the frozen surface and blowing into the woods here in the NEK.

ha it’s all relative. But it is a nice place to ski, especially when there’s an unexpected 5-7”, Magic is closed, and Stratton has 2”……

Not from today but everyone knows on powder days that Bromley sucks and Okemo rocks.

^ Yeah but with the $100 I saved on a lift ticket, I ordered a keg of Fiddlehead. Cost/day on my Ikon pass is now below $32.

Stratton skied way better than expected. Had to follow the wind but the lee side of the trails had a solid 4" of snow that was sturdy, not feathers. I guess the snow blowing off the trees stabilized it. Whatever the cause, it skied great. First run ever on Bear Down...it's rated a double black which is similar to blue trails at Magic.

NOAA upped the totals for this little clipper storm tonight from 2-4 inches to 6-9. This weekend might not be too bad.

The way the weather has been lately, I don't even look any more. Supposed to be 6-8" earlier in the week and we got maybe 6-8 snowflakes. Not supposed to snow at all and we got 7". Hope you're right but I feel like it's the 1920s and I just have to wake up and see what the day brings.
