"Hi, I'm Swimmy and I have a Powder problem"

    Get some.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Some of the best snow I've ever skied at GD today in the Big Open. Perfect consistency. Lapped fresh tracks for four hours. Outstanding.

That is some old time MN work ethic there! Who says people don't want to work hard?

That looks great. Wanted to ski there again when it's good.

Heh. It's not the skiing that's work, it's the grunt out there and back that very few want to do. Especially to the far side, High Voltage zone... Totally worth it to me for fresh tracks. I get my ski fix and my cardio all in one, what could be better? [emoji16]

Thanks! I'm stoked that I was able to hook up with WRG. It's fun skiing/shooting with him.

And we got lucky with viz. Our next lap it got socked in and you couldn't see shit.

Probably gonna catch a ride with a buddy today so doubt I'll make first chair. Should be soft skiing though.

No, a just a few really fat ones.

But with really purty faces and great personalities.

Not much new and a pretty sore body make it hard to get rolling today. I had my gape wreck of the year at the Marx/duck walk intersection first lap yesterday. You know where you make that fast sweeping left and join the cat track to keep up speed. Except it was flat light and I was going waaayyyy too fast. Hit that compression, kicked a shoe, body slammed the cat track, broke my helmet boa system, somehow bent a buckle on my boot, no one around to see it lol.

    I guess I'm not 25 anymore lol

When that turn is in and safe it is the best part of a really fun tram return as is the screamer left past the Wave Avalauncher building. Never screwed that first one up but watched another local do the same thing and fly off the cat track into Chicken Bowl.

Heal up, new week is now looking like unsettled goodness and next weekend is POTUS Weekend and the start of mayhem.

Thinking I might make the pre-Superbowl trek down tomorrow as I have to work Mon.-Wed.

Hope you feel better WRG, I've definitely done the poor-viz-ski-into-a-dip-and-smash-myself thing at Big Sky. I recall once my poles got mashed into my chest and I had sore ribs for most of the season lol. That sucked.

I've taken a couple dumb falls lately, both times from a stopped position where I just lost my focus and tipped over in poor visibility. Seems harmless but in one instance I tried really hard to stop my fall and ended up tweaking my abdominal muscles. This is probably related to an old abdominal injury I got working in a cannery loading 50-pound boxes of frozen salmon onto pallets all day. In any case I need to recommit myself to paying more attention in all situations. Falls of any kind really aren't an option at my age.

I am definitely not skiing today, I'm worn out. Gotta go to Bozeman to view my wife's art in the Sweet Pea winter festival art show. If anybody is interested it's at 8 E. Main St. (the ERA/Landmark building). She has two pieces in the show, "Carved" and "Mountain Goat." There's some really cool art in this show, I looked at it online.

I ejected on some rocks in the Belts the other day not even skiing fast and got real lucky I landed in a soft spot. Thought it was going to be bad. Hit a stump on my sled the other day and got ejected again, went flying. No helmet either time. I need to buy one.

Yeahman, I might be downtown today running errands and I will stop in to check your wife's art if I do!!

Dude get a helmet Trackhead. I think its crazy when I see people skiing without one especially at BS with most of the shit you land on being rocks. I FUCKED myself up at the bike park 3 years ago and got a bad concussion. Without a helmet I probably would have been dead. Helmet definitely saved my ass yesterday too.

I broke a helmet and separated a shoulder traversing on Disco’s backside about 15 years ago. Couldn’t have been going more than 5-10 mph but I hit a stump and double ejected. I didn’t notice the crack in the helmet for a month or so, but obviously I’m glad I had it.
