That's about 90k more than I got. When it was running well, it was unstoppable right up until something went wrong. Which for me always happened in the most inopportune places.

The sad thing was the body was in such great shape and looked like new, it got compliments all the time. Sitting still of course.

Damn, when did Mini get so high on lists like this?

JD Power rankings are clearly not too accurate judging by some of that list. I mean, Lexus and Toyota being at the top makes sense, but Mini and BMW being so high up and Honda being so low? Not buying it. Haha. In the past, JD was pretty much bought and paid for by the manufacturers (like how they'd always put Dodge Ram as #1? Lol nope) but I remember Consumer Reports rankings as being a bit more reflective of reality. Is that still the case? Been years since I've paid attention to the rankings.

Thanks! The S/W issue explains why I kept getting discussions of sedans when I looked up W212 vs W213. Who prefaces their sedans with W and wagons with S? Silly German...

I’d like to see those rankings broken out according to whether or not you were able to use the vehicle to comfortably and reliably get from point a to point b. I’m not too interested in whether or not you brought the car in because sometimes the wireless CarPlay connection goes wonky.

I sure do miss my '96 D1 SE7 5-Speed. Taught me a lot about repairing my own vehicle. I think mine was made on a Wednesday because everything (but the sunroofs) that I didn't fix/replace due to prince of darkness still worked up until the end. Sold it on BAT a few years back for more than I bought it for after 20 years of ownership. Longest relationship I've ever had, lol.

I can't recall who did exactly that, maybe Car & Driver? Basically the most reliable car in the world you can buy right now is a Porsche 911 was their end result. Mostly because it's built to incredibly exact specifications in all aspects, but also because they've been refining the same car for 60 years.

Awesome car and color. I like the wheels too, they look smaller than the 22s but much more tasteful IMO. They don't quite fill out the wheel wells in the same way though.

That dealer is asleep at the wheel or doesn't know what they've got?

It's not an accident that the most reliable makers use the same methods. Porsche uses the Toyota production system, which is why they ended up where they are. They were NOT this reliable before they made the switch in the mid 90s.

Well later Saabs were GM, except for the Saabaru WRX, so that all tracks. Although WRX reliability is more about the driver than the car IMO, and the Saab demographic isn’t that.

My buddy had his ‘20 a4 allroad in for some prepaid maintenance at the Atlanta North Audi shop today and noticed this one was moved up there. He asked the sales manager if he could take it for a spin. The guy said you’re in luck, they just had it out for a test drive and he’d be happy to let him have a go.

He said the color is way more gorgeous in person and agreed that it’s the coolest looking RS he’s ever seen, and that it is a savage hammer with white gloves on the road.

Trust me, you want the S213. Some (not me) prefer the S212 body but there was so much more that came with the S213. Apple CarPlay/Android Auto being the one that really pushed me over the 2017 line. The factory nav is horrible and if you install aftermarket kits to get Apple/Android, it messes with the rest of the computer.

This brings back nightmares. I was this close to buying one of those pieces of shit with the factory rainbow paint job in 1981 but the owner couldn't get it started when I wanted to test drive it. I had thoughts of it being a real shaggin' wagon.
