Thanks a lot for the follow up, What I bolded its the magic part of this ski for me too. Through all sorts of weird snow you can trust that you'll always be able smear slide them around at the last second, which boosts your confidence skiing at higher speeds. Out east where most of the pow is found in the woods this is especially helpful. I'm able to find lines and ski consistently faster than buds who are just as good or better skiers than me on different but good modern pow skis. Even A-Bing myself on the same line GPO v Q. Q wins everytime. If I'm not mistaken you don't have a regular Q to compare, but curious how you would rate the float of your skinny Q against your bibby's
I haven't been on deep enough snow to compare the skinny Q against the float of the Bibby yet. Once I get a chance I'll let you know how I feel on them with regards to float vs the FRS and the Bibby. I imagine they'll probably float pretty similar to my old Bibby (which was a little shorter at 184 and had a tendency to tip-dive) but probably not as good as the FRS.

Concept Mount Point - Picking up some 177 Praxis concepts today for my friend. Can either mount on the line, or -1.25cm or so. I think I remember mounting my pair of 187’s at -1cm and liking them there. She’s a strong skier and fairly directional, but not very heavy and these will be the longest pair of skis she’s been on (5’8 very athletic). Pow and freeride comp ski for Tahoe
Any input? Not sure how accommodating the compound camber is of moving the mount point around.

The Concept was my first Praxis, i bought the 177 because Keith had a couple pairs left at of an end of season sale. I was waffling on the length thinking they'd be too short (I'm 5,10 165) but I thought at the price i would give it a shot. I mounted on the line and have never had issues. I love them. IMO the Concept really benefits from a bit more centered stance with that reverse sidecut lined up right underfoot, so I'd be tempted to stay on the line. Not sure what your friends boot size is, but I'm 25.5 (297mm) and it was good for me.
Lastly Concept rules, If Keith ever made a 182/3 in my goldilocks length I'd buy another pair in a heart beat. I think a 5,8" athletic skier doing comps will have no issues with the 177.
Agreed. I stay on the line with the Concept if that’s an option.

I think I'm going to pull the old catch and release with my 190 Mind Sticks. They're exactly what they should be, but maybe not quite the right fit for me. DM me if any body is interested. No rush on my end. I'll keep skiing them occasionally.
If anyone is looking to move a -1 Q in 188 , I'd be interested.

The Piste Jib is my favorite sub 100mm ski. I scored two used custom pairs on GS, one that’s anchored a bloated quiver for nearly as long as I’ve posted here that I’ve skied well over 100 days. I’ve changed boot setups 4-5x , other skis have come and gone and my injury status, fitness and gut size have run the gamut over the past several years but I have never considered moving on from either pair.
This set — 4 flex enduro with GPO graphics (+1 flex from stock) require a little more speed to come to life and take more deliberation to smear in and out of carves vs the stock flex veneer pair but I think they blast through chopped up snow with some more authority while also feeing slightly less damp. Overall at 5’7’’ ~162lb currently I think I prefer the stock 3 flex with veneer pair that I’m now using as 50/50 ski. What they give up in top end to the 4 flex pair is made up by how effortless they are to slarve in and out of carves or shut down speed on and off the groom. But they’re both versatile and fun skis for someone who likes relatively playful skis that can get loose and also be driven pretty hard.

Getting into the groove with the MVP 108s
At first I was missing a bit of the metal snappiness and tighter turn radius of the '18 Rustler 10s they were replacing, but I'm getting used to the feel after a few days. I also changed boots so there's an extra variable at play.
Today we had really heavy wet snow and I thought they killed it. They pushed their way through crud and through untracked/slightly tracked sludge in a way that would have thrown the R10s off their game. Felt like I could get the tails to come around in the trees pretty well despite the heavy rained-on snow, which meant I could still point the skis at fresher snow rather than only following existing cut up lines.
Also never had a ski get more compliments than these!

Aggressive in my own mind
I have the MVP 108 (184) in the 4 flex. Wondering how stiff that is relative to, say, Moment's Wildcat/Deathwish and ON3P's Jeffrey/Woodsman in similar width? Anyone have a comparison to the narrower Moments and ON3Ps as well? I absolutely love the ski, but its a bit stiffer for my style of skiing (I pretty much play around the mountain dropping off, popping off, slashing, spinning, landing and riding switch, etc. anywhere I can..still ski aggressively which is why I got it). I am also 5'9" 172-172lbs.
I'd love to stay Praxis, but I'd probably have to go customer to get a softer flex MVP 108. Also, would love to see a 98-102 width ski that fits the above bill.
I’m 5’ 8” 140 lbs and not the best skier … I have the 181 Woodsman 110 which is the predecessor to the current WD108. Before this I was on the Gen 1 177 Woodsman 108 which had a ridiculously stiff and unforgiving tail (presumably same construction as Wren) that wanted to be full gas and perfect form all the time and was not kind when making a mistake or getting bucked into the backseat.
I’m unclear if the core has changed at all from last year’s WD110 to this year’s WD108, but the 181 WD110 has a great balance for me of softer more forgiving tail that doesn’t require perfect form and full gas all the time, it’s very solid in front of the binding, still very damp and powerful when hauling ass. I’m not sure I can compare to stock Praxis flex levels but I would bet they are more comparable to a level 3. It’s a bit hard to compare because ON3P cores have really good progression from the initial give to building up strong support under a load - which I did not quite feel on my level 3 enduro veneer GPOs, those seemed not quite as damp and faster to stiffen up and transmit a hit than an ON3P core. I’ve been really impressed by the versatility of the WD110, handles firm, mank, chop and powder well, and I plan to daily drive it here in warm PNW resorts for anything that is not boilerplate or not too deep.
No idea if the Jeff 108 is the same core as the WD108, but J108 is like -4 cm mount and I think WD is like -6.5 or something … seems like 181 or 186 J108 should be on your short list to try.
I have been MVP108 curious as I want to build up a 108-110mm directional/playful do anything travel ski with Duke PTs. Your comments have me thinking to avoid the MVP108 due to my negative experience with “just a bit too stiff for me” Praxis and ON3Ps - the 173s seem like they would be too short and the 183s possibly too stiff - and maybe I should just grab another set of WD110/108 and throw Dukes on them.

Scralph-
I have a stock veneer BC 180 that I find too soft in the three flex for regular duty for me at about your height and weight. There must be loads of them around where you are, but if you’re ever out this way and would like to try them then just bring some boots.
I think you were asking about the mvp94 earlier - I still have yet to find a better in bounds do it all. I’m so happy with that ski.

Thanks … I wonder if you’ll feel differently if you make that move out west. I think the point of the BC has always been to have a softer flex to maximize fun in soft snow. I’ll put a standing offer to take those off your hands if they never jive with you, my MAP/C BCs were pressed in 2011!
Thanks for the MVP94 feedback. Keith’s last email about MVP94s and GPOs being back in stock has me thinking those must be the two most popular selling skis right now (and a solid two ski quiver as well!).

Anybody looking to get rid of 187 GPO’s or 190 BC’s?

Hey Praxis nerds. I'm looking for a bit of guidance. I want something between 195 PBs and 188 Skinny Qs. I already have 188 Qs for touring. Basically, I want something with more suspension that the PBs for when the pow days start to get bumped out. I threw the feelers out and below is an list of what is available. Can you guys comment on the difference between
GPO
Q
FRS
