They do get lost sometimes. There have been some gnarly wrecks in the past from people being off the line they thought they were on.

I love how some of the ski men absolutely went for the big send. I was disappointed they were running the Bec to start the season then stoked when I realized they’d be coming back at the top later.
What an event. Snow was punchy, you could see it in turns and landings. So much so that some of those big airs would of been landed in better conditions but punching in was tearing skis off. Hilarious how the female commentator was announcing how good the snow was yet the other one was saying how difficult it is. Lol.
Filnders score was a drag. Gaugens send was insane. Made me come out of my recliner when he took flight and yell NO! when he crashed. Some edge of your seat skiing in the mens division. Rowdy!

That was completely ridiculous. Full send cranked to 11. Some of those lines had no chance, but others might have been stuck if they had taken 10% off.
Dillon definitely took a conservative run. Relative to Bathgate and Pollard I thought he was scored fairly. While he may have seemed overly hyped at the bottom you have to remember that he broke his ankle last December and missed the season, then ruptured his spleen DH racing in the summer. Getting to the bottom on his feet with a mid-pack result had to be an enormous relief.
We need a fwt guy check in here and give us inside info.
Is ordina arcalis happening? Contest window is 1 to 7 feb.
Is the covering better there?
Insane skiing as always but man the fpv drone has got to go. There are only 3 shots an fpv drone should ever be used for in skiing. It ain’t hard to figure out. They would be much better served with a regular drone or two for viewer experience.

For sure. And you could tell they abandoned the fpv drone later in the contest, or at least had their hand sitting on the switch button waiting for it to fuck up. It's a shame though. With a really talented pilot it could have caught some great views of the crashes. The best views were off the wind lip with the blue sky/mountain background

Are you all able to use the rider links on the video this year? I can only use them in small screen mode and as soon as I expand to full screen they are gone and don't come back.

In full screen mode there is a little icon with three lines and the number 1,2,3 next to each line. Upper right hand corner. Clicking on that brought up a right hand column with the riders in their order of finish. So basically, it worked for me.
Being able to click through the men's field in order of finish an interesting perspective on the judging btw.
Benders Save, I forgot about this one.
Who gets the sickbird award?

Rewatched men’s ski.
I think a bit of the ‘hold on for glory’ mentality got the better of about 4 of the guys…. If they take 5-10% on they make the judging much more difficult.
I would be interested in poking around up there, seems like 60% had similar ideas to line and there were some areas really underutilized…. See winning run

formerly an ambassador for a few others, but the ski industry is... interesting.
Fukt: a very small amount of snow.
I tried something new this year.
Watch it as a replay and fast forward through the judging.
So much standing around, inane talk about amplitude etc. Not criticizing the announcers - no one can make that stuff interesting.
Just watch the hucks and enjoy the show.
I have no idea who won and I really, really don't care.
It looks like they have some sort of tracker on them (for the line), does anyone know if there is a way to see how fast say Moga was going when he finally touched down. It looked like he just kept falling and falling without end. I am not saying he hit terminal velocity or anything - but he must have been moooooving.
And next comp cancelled :-(

This is why they should never even try to get freeride into the Olympics. Bummer.

Was the pivot to the Bec because they already knew stop 2 was looking really questionable? Will they do what happened a few years ago and run 2 comps at Kicking Horse? Will the Horse even happen with the weather going on out here this week? So many questions.
