the Heritage catalogue is getting out of hand. Well done Marshal and team, well done. That you can bring so many choice offerings to us ski nerds is simply awesome!
Thank Jeebus the exchange rate is terrible right now.
Marshall, would you consider a thirsty gear whore discount package where we get a hefty discount if we buy all the skis in the catalog?
Dude you’re killing it with these skis, quality is super super high and shapes are super dialed.
When would the SW120 ship?
There are the following Beta release ski still available:
1x 187 R
1x 187 BC
2x 187 FR
these skis are scheduled to arrive late next week and I’ll turn em around and ship them as fast as I can.
outside of that, everything else is preorder for the fall.
It seems you’re dropping pure greatness but I’m a little lost in the details of everything pertaining to model and layup. Will have to study up and get an order in.
Had a poor experience on Folsom Powfish swallowtail with camber in the PNW mash snow. Tail would hang up or bog down on slashes. Imagine reverse camber would alleviate some of that. Do you see this as more of a Rockies ski?
Those look so good, especially in the R profile. I want but do not need these.
I'd be curious to hear about the changes and modifications from the tabla rasa and sanouk since it's been 20 years (!!!) and ski design has gone through a bunch of trends in that time. I seem to remember the sanouk being real soft so it kind of got some rocker in powder.
Also is there a place for specs of the older models? I thought you kept the pages up just unlinked, but I'm not seeing them anymore. Got some good news today so I think I'm gonna finally mount up the 99s and 120s and hopefully get day 2 of the season in soon.
I'd say the FR will be the call for Hot Pow for sure. The R is going to be really fun, but I think the tail will drag a bit more than at least I'd like in that sort of snow.
Oh and to flush it in a bit more.
There are two basic builds.
1. Fiberglass skis with bamboo/poplar cores and extra VDS rubber - VERY smooth yet responsive and lively. heavy real inbounds alpine skis (like 2300-2600g depending on length/width)
--> the Fiberglass skis have a few flavors - Full Reverse ("FR" progressive fully rockered skis) - Rockered ("R" progressive charger skis) - Fall Line ("FL" directional charger skis) - Hella Rockered ("HB" more center mounted and super rockered) and waist widths within each.
2. Carbon skis with pawlownia/poplar cores - light skis built for untracked snow and human power. But probably the dampest light touring skis out there.
--> the carbon skis are low reverse camber skis designed to both skin and ski super well. The 90, 105, 113, 132 are all directional shapes with -10 to -11 mounts. The 110 is a progressive shapes with an approx -7 mount.

I'll type something a bit longer up on Swallowtail theory tomorrow.
Whoever is thinking they should get some in on some C132 action is correct.

Awesome. Appreciate you adding those details. I’m probably a candidate for the bad snow banger anyhow. Please keep me in mind on that.
I was going to go gold on the R105 Slayer

Quick update, all the beta release swallowtails are now spoken for
fall preorders on them and the r105/r11” going forward!
Hello Marshal,
Could you describe the differences between the R110 and the FL113, at 194?
I am over the Moon with the FL105!, 192 @ -12.5, (6’, 190)
The ride is so smooth and capable that the rest of my skis could collect dust for the foreseeable future.
-an immense purge is being considered…
We just haven’t had any fresh for the 194 FL113, yet, that I have.
Then you have the unmitigated gall to offer up this R110, and my mind is spinning!
Is there a difference in flex, particularly?
-I recall the FL113 being described as 10% stiffer than the FL105.
Thank you for your time and for a chatter-free future.
Edit: please read as; Talk me into it.

so I would say the FL113 is a very unique ski. It may not jump out as such on paper, but it is a direction pintail. There is nothing like it currently available, it is just so damn fun to ski down the fall line and it absolutely blows up cut up pow and chop. IIRC, you are an alyeska guy, right? that is the kind of mountain where the FL113 will thrive.
the 110 is a more progressive shape, with a tighter radius, and more forward mount. Don’t get me wrong, it is super fun to rip around on, and it’s going to ride smoother and surfier than almost anything else out there, but at least compared to the Fl113, it’s going to feel like a versatile all mountain ski, where the FL113 is for going from a to b in the shortest path.
id say the 105 and 110 are more comparable as traditional vs progressive daily skis, where the 113 is something different than that
Thank you for your insight and clarity, Marshal.
Your project is inspiring in many ways.
The unique character of the FL113 you have described is just Fantastic!,
and absolutely supports my vision and intent.
I feel like every decision I’m making is Gold!
I can’t wait to get on the FL113 up here in what are the typical conditions, steep chop and wild mood swings.
High speed carving, power-drifting / “stivotting”, and just utterly annihilating the mountain, on the 192 FL105, will not be possible on many days here, due to the epic low viz we regularly experience.
The R110 is really intriguing me as a lower viz and more travel friendly option.
The idea of a more progressive style ski with a bit more low speed agility and the Heritage Labs mass and Damp AF ride, purposely built to smash everything half-sideways, sounds Rad!
Thought this thread would benefit from some Upallnight input and stoke!Hey man.... An interesting thing: Temps here were -15F a few days ago..... then 30+F the past 2 days. (It's actually a good thing for our snowpack's stability.)
Anyway, I skin up to the top of a line and am face a couple thousand feet of untracked, dense pow — supportable cream, but still the kind of snow that will be hooky on skis with traditional sidecut and camber. The added wrinkle is that the lower half of this slope has more brush than normal, so it's a tight mix.
The C132s absolutely SLAYED the snow conditions — and while a rockered ski might have done that they would not have seamlessly switched from a 40m radius turn to a 10m one back to a 40.... nor would they have had the width underfoot and the easy pop that let me lean back a blip and get out of the snow so I could just give the top of a little tree a love tap and keep going without any fear of getting grabbed. It's SUPER valuable to have that much width underfoot and the reverse sidecut for entering/exiting some lines.
Man... what a blast! Honestly, it was some of the most fun that I've had on skis in a long time (and I'm saying that as someone who has skied a TON of powder)..... just playful.... and begging you to ski faster and faster. It reminded me of my first day on Spatulas back at Squaw. Wow.
I've been talking them up to a few ski partners and 2 are particularly interested.
I've had them out 5x in the last 6-7 days.
Also, today I was touring with a buddy who used to be on the US Rando team and is still strong. He was on Movement skis that are ~80 underfoot. Yes, he's fitter than me and sure he held back a bit... but the weight of the C132s wasn't that much a hindrance on the way up for a casual backcountry tour. And he was NOT having the fun I had on the way down!
Thanks!
Hell yeah! Agreed on all points made. I just spent two weeks straight using mine for touring and resort, and I had such a blast. Ridiculous.
