My vet still recommends not board in Colorado at this time, due to CIRDC.

I’ve got people watching mine at home. Not thrilled, but it’s working so far.

We have used Donner Truckee Vetrinary Hospital a few times. I can't really expand upon that much. My dog did fine there. He absolutely hates being boarded, so we really try to leave him with friends when possible.

I have friends that use Truckee Tahoe Pet Lodge. They swear that their dog loves it there. They never answer phones or return calls. Be prepared to walk in there if you want to try to get your dog on the schedule. We have been unsuccessful.

I miss Happy Tails. My dog actually seemed to like it there.

Down the hill to the west, we use Pawsitive Pals in grass valley. It’s always been a great experience for us. A lot of outdoor social time. Never shopped around, but I believe it is not cheap. But you get what you pay for.

We’re truckee Tahoe pet lodgers. Dogs go for daycare twice a week so they’re familiar and really seem to love it for boarding too. Only time they ever pull on the leashes is from the truck to the TTPL front door

Sugar Bowl wasn't half bad mid day. Some fresh tracks to be had with zippable crust. The snow was shallow enough underneath. I was expecting worse. (My wife says I'm always expecting worse.)

PTOV was fun today, too. I imagine it was nasty in the AM, but by 1 it had softened. Getting Solitude and Granite spinning has opened up some fun options. The day ended too soon. Headed back tomorrow mid-day because skiing is fun.

Anyone near Tahoe Donner area in Truckee got a 3.5x9.5mm drill bit I could borrow? I seem to have misplaced mine.

Is park and ride TART service to Palisades a functional option if we lose the alterra mega millions parking res lottery? We are not super pressed, my cousin is intermediate and solving the mountain on a pow day is not important on this trip.

Are there any motels I should avoid on the north side?

The Sherwood shuttle will be running on weekends once they get Sherwood open. We're expecting 16" at 7k this weekend so hopefully that will do the trick.

I've been mostly sticking to Alpine- but given that I think reverse traverse has been open this seem fishy. Anyone been skiing over there and want to chime in?

The fact they are allowing access via reverse traverse triggers the bullshit detector on the reasons listed

Any news on what happened on Shirley today? Seemed not great. IMO it was too crowded down there all day.

That's pretty funny comparing this year's MLK weekend to last year's when it was a full on powder fest on top of a solid base. How dumb do they think we are? Well, pretty dumb it seems. As per usual.

My guess is that they are waiting on Headwall because they don’t want kooks going up that chair just yet.

The official excuse blog (AKA, blog of lies) on why we don't run lifts is finally out.

We can't run Headwall because we have no snow for a ramp, (I do have a nice picture of the ramp all the way back on Monday, and on Tuesday I actually saw HW spin!) now we have to do avalanche work on all the terrain even though that terrain has been open, also, there might be some ice on it (funny how at Niseko in Japan they manage to take off and put chairs and gondolas on every day, imagine that!). lol!

Squaw One has had a nice run the last couple years, but it's old and now and needs to take a nap during the week. lol!

Last year we had too much snow, so we can't run Silverado, oh we will run it soon said the blog of lies even though they knew there was an issue with the lift. Lies and more lies.

I would never book a trip to Squaw from other parts of the country, the worst run ski area in the country!

I guess they laid everyone off already but kept our money.

Since you won't operate your lifts can I have my money back?

Ran in to liftie at boot shop Wed. He said lots of pressure to keep costs down from Colorado since revenue is down. Even though they sold passes, if people don't show they don't make money on food et.al. which is the real profit

Headwall is ready. Just went by today. Load zone is fine. I call the famous Squaw money hold

    From 1/12 blog:

    • We had our grooming crew working on Headwall last night. It is close to being ready. We are aiming to add Headwall to the schedule early next week.

If they aren't going to run WSS you better run Headwall. Nothing is worse than riding the Funitel. Most locals and real skiers only ski KT and Headwall most of the time anyway. I think not running HW is just an intentional burn on locals, they want us to just go away. What about Broken Arrow lift ? That's redundant. The gondola is redundant too.

The Excuse Blog was particularly bad today...not even a mention of Sherwood. That said they did overcome one hurdle and got the Return Road done last night, allowing TurboWeasel to open to the top.

And the mission accomplished message...fuck that.
    Fuck those fucking motherfuckers!

Did the rime ice look worse on Headwall than this chair this morning? Must have been worse since people are on this chair...
