My first 9 laps on JP were awesome today. And then I had to go to work.

Really great day. The golden horde burned their weekday chance on Tuesday I suspect, I rode onto everything but the tram all morning. Good vis, every turn good to great. So much low hanging fruit I didn't bother going cirque until 11

Heard a troller telling some skiers that they couldnt enter open terrain with a rope anywhere except the gate. I was standing in an area that I entered 20 ft below the open gate as I listened to this. Its hard to imagine getting grilled too hard over that but I don't know. Anyone have any wisdom on this one?

You must be new round these parts.

I need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

I assumed wrong then, that's last word on that. I guess I had it confused with the ropes that I am allowed to duck, such as to enter get serious, which are always roped (this is where I find out I'm riding zoom liftline illegally). To my knowledge I have never entered terrain that wasn't open fwiw.
So next question, will I actually be held in violation of the no uphill hiking policy if I unstrap to climb that 20 feet up the line to the gate? I already look like an ass in here so might as well get all my questions answered once and for all if I can.

Dint I already post this a month ago?
Enter thru gate or closed skier rope lines are not to duck.
All else is ie: warning cliff, rocks, caution, etc.
As are unsigned ropes cept obvious places like lift terminals.
These are the LCC rules. And I think BCC. They differ elsewhere, Tbatt and others informed me on that other post.
Nobody's gonna holler at you for hiking back up an open area cuz you missed a gate.
Contrary, they'll prolly thank you.
Today did not suck.

You did. So I retained half the information which is pretty good for me.
At any rate I won't be doing it again.

Making a real effort to ask questions and not be a cunt but you went ahead and kept tgr TGR, thanks jmed. Calling everyone who knows less than you a jong to get TFW points is why this forum is aging to death.
I had a season high day, posted stoke, and somehow ended up getting jonged by a old head. Every time i ask a fucking question here I wonder what kind of response I'm gonna get. Am I on the right side of the invisible line of things mags and locs and bc people need to know? Or am I a jong?
You longtimers need to ask yourself if you actually want new blood in here.

You're both. Embrace it.
Today was real good. Nice weather, better snow.
There's nothing better than sliding down snow, flying through the air
Mmm, dump truck!

Easy, son.
This is the TGR after all...

Snowboarder I meant
I'm a relative newcomer. Getting called JONG is just part of the culture here. Don't take it personally or get your panties in a bunch.
TFW and others will tell you that there's nothing wrong with asking questions - having a beginner's mind is a serious blessing. Better to ask questions and be a fool for a minute than to stay silent and remain one for the rest of your life.
And yeah, by my count, Jmed has offered zero stoke, while you, even new, have posted stoke. If you let him get to you, you probably shouldn't be hanging out on teh TRGz anyway.
here's some low angle burn scar stoke from when the avalanche rose was all black
