Brisk start. Sun was nice mid morning. Conditions ranged from very good to sporty.

Anyone sitting in their car in the canyon right now?

I left SLC at 7:00 yesterday, hit canyon mouth at 7:30, and wildcat lot at 8:00. Snow was variable and challenging but fun. Put some nice new core shots in my brand new skis.

Riding today looks fun but not sure if 4-5 hours in the car is worth it

top of the hill past la Caille light. Driving has been comical to watch. Lots of asshattery. Canyon looks smooth sailing roughly based on UDOT cams. Left sugarhouse at 7:15

I live in Cottonwood Heights and it took me an hour and 40 minutes to get to Alta. I imagine it’ll be triple that down

Had some fun snow piles to charge in the bowl next to regulator ... took a few laps and only sat in 15 mins of traffic

like Alex in Clockwork Orange, just a quick in-out

Good turns to be had. Long drive up but it’s all snowbirds fault, road was smooth sailing past bypass, Alta lot less than half full at 950. Ski on runs then some mild lines, 5 laps and in the car by 1215, eating pizza at home by 1.

Beat the snake. 630 sugar house liftoff. Road was sporty, saw a few ppl bail. Thought mineral might be nicely wind loaded but it wasn't the move, no disappointments after that. Had a few laps that will make the season mental yearbook. Hit lotsa rocks.

First turns since getting back from the Carribean.

Was on the Phall schedule- picked up my buddy near La Caille about 10:40 and sat on Collins at 11:56.

Walk on virtually all day as we moved back to Supreme, and even got a couple sunny laps. Some sleet got us around Tower 10 traverse and flat light below. Great skiing, though the High T got hammered while I was away. Worse I’ve seen it this season.

Left around 2:10 and took almost 40 minutes to get down. My call is 7:30 before Alta is clear….

We slept in hoping to miss the traffic, left the house at 9:30, hit traffic at the swamp lot. Normally a half hour drive was two hours today.

Came across this guy above Stu’s trees.

He’d sent the board down to a buddy and was trying to climb out when I quit laughing and skied away. It was nice to have some softness about but you could still hear the crunch here and there.

My prediction was way off! Looks slow going further down canyon but the tail has left Albion according to the UDOT camera whose picture I’m unable to attach…

met up with muted and nbabucks for an amazing day up at solitude, they seriously underreported the snow there, and the drive up bcc was not nearly as bad as everyone said it was.

honestly i don't think i'm gonna bother skiing anywhere other than Solly on my ikon pass because it's so goddamn good.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

It's not savvy and smart it's just what you have to do to minimize your time in the car and actually, ya know, get first tracks. It has been this way every powder day since I moved here, and it sucks, but I'd rather just leave my house at 630 than have to engage in a logistical operation with my pool of acquaintance-friends to manage a parking reservation system every week. I'm sure it was cooler when you started skiing here and there wasn't any traffic and the houses were cheaper and the tits were out in the gmd and they didn't close the road the night before and the snow was colder and the avalanche conditions were more stable and there weren't so many reefer head beater snowboarders and backpack speakers and football jerseys, but take a little pity. This is the only world some of us have ever skied.

Tldr don't hate the player hate the game. Find someone else to shade
