Hey Mags, welcome back to town. Don't let it getcha down, there's plenty to do.

I'm taking today off but will be dinking around in the waxroom this evening. Holla to swing by for some festivities and wax. Anytime, actually.

220 - you know the drill well, c'mon my friend.

TJoe - Yer jus' around the corner, if ya recall. Anytime's a good time, Holla and bring the special lady and the pupper.

Laid back and no requirements. Drinking, smokin', laughing.

Let's burn some skis this weekend, anyone?

Really good skiing. Pleasantly deep. Hope everyone had a great day.

Hoping this forecast holds. Will be down there next weekend. A gaggle in Freeride Systems shells and mix of Heritage Labs and Volkl skis at the ghee.

Hey, Man! I would join your crew to mob around, but I am having two surgeries on Tuesday, FUN!

I don’t really need them, but I figured if I did, it would start snowing, so if it does, youse alls owe me BIG TIME.

A few general questions on GTFamSkiTrip'24. Never been before: Likely rent a house/condo in Driggs near Ski Hill Road. How decent is bus service up and down the hill? Any stops to position ourselves near for easy access? How about driving/parking at the hill? We will have a rented car but not everyone starts and stops at the same time.

    These are sweet.

We tooled around up north yesterday but didn't find any snow quite that good, was an absolute beauty of a day though. Had a nice reminder that touring muscles are very different than alpine skiing muscles. Pretty sure you had disclosed your camera setup to me at some point in the past, and days like yesterday make it clear how much extra work it is to not only lug the extra weight, but also be in the right spot at the right time and not hold people up.

I ran into Mike the other day so we took a few laps and caught up. He invited me over for the hand off of these skis to their new owner. I got there too late but the dude is a 40 something money guy who heliskis a lot and stands 6'7" and goes 240#.

    Getting shapely.

We were looking at the old doobie shapes - both fully rockered end to end and barreled side to side on the base. It's a veritable butter churn.

Bus service is pretty regular- at least every half hour. Stops are these: in town behind senior center, 5th street park in Driggs, Teton Creek Resort (parking only for residents/ renters). Also in Victor at the ice rink. I think this info is all on Targhee's website. Take the bus up the hill and alleviate a lot of driving and parking stress.

Gonna be out there beatering around in a couple weeks. First time in area…couple days @ Ghee and a day JHMR. Driggs lodging.

    Couple questions:

How is weekday inbound flow and parking availability @ Ghee? I’m assuming JHMR will be nutty—frankly until now never even thought about parking, etc. over there.

Other than buying online directly, any better avenues for securing lifts? Assume not, but who knows.

Where to pick up some good steaks-Broulims?

Thank you. I like them (and am often overly critical of my own work).

Definitely takes work to add photography into the mix — and a bit of extra work when hauling a real setup uphill, too. Doing it safely in any terrain is an interesting puzzle; can't just position oneself anywhere.

That is NOT the optimal profile for flying in an a-star....

Broulims has a case of dry aged steaks in front of the meat counter. I’ve never splurged but they look great.

Spent a month in Driggs year before last. Rented just off Ski Hill Road right after where the road bends to the NE (heading uphill) in the Aspen Meadows neighborhood. Stops were not at all convenient for that location and walking on Ski Hill Road was not something I wanted to do.

I drove out from Vermont so I had my own car with decent snow tires and driving up/down was never an issue but a shitty rental with all seasons could cause some stress. Parking on weekdays was a piece of cake, weekends you want to get there early-ish.

Always wanted a pair of Iggy's. Old ski buddy had a pair from the first time they were in business. Truly a work of art. I would have a hard time using them at pebble due to our low snow and the rocks just kill skis quickly.
Always seems we get one good storm for one of the holidays. Enjoy the turns and stay smart cause we are going to see some snow movement around here!

    Movement is a guarantee.

Igneous were originally made to withstand the village rocks. They are as durable as skis get. Not cheap though. He does have some older models just hanging around, drilled and whatnot. Sometimes they're available.

The first skis, still skinny, were over 200cm and many were above 210cm. Still a few pair of those in the corner too.
