The end of that Blazers game was a master class in choking.

Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that
Pretty much consensus that Klay is a great Robin. Nobody in the thread (or pretty much anywhere) who appreciates his game was arguing he is Batman.
That’s why saying he’s not a #1 with such vitriol is a straw man argument.
Players have some many layers to their games and careers. Comparing players and eras can be fun but is ultimately really difficult.
BTW, fuck you guys and you “Dubs homers” bullshit. I post a ton of shit about many different teams. I’d post more, but it would be lost on many of you. [emoji23]
Merry Christmas! Have a Happy New Year, and have a great 2024!

Worth repeating.
Scottie is clearly the best #2 of all time and I think Klay is right behind him. Although there’s a weird dynamic with Magic and Kareem where it gradually turned into Magic’s team and yet Kareem won Finals MVP at 38/39 years old. Still think he’s underrated.

Heard a satellite radio interview with Joe Dumars...pretty interesting. Great takes on guarding MJ, how Mugsy Bogues was a terror on defense (Isaiah made Dumars play PG against Charlotte because of Mugsy) and how Grant Hill was going to be the GOAT prior to injury. Apparently Hill had a Kobe like mentality regarding grinding, learning and improving every part of his game.

"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring."
Yeah Grant Hill is a great (or not so great) what if story. I don’t know about being the GOAT but without that nasty string of injuries he definitely could have been held in higher regard. A lot of former players seem to feel that way about him.
Got to see the Wemby show last night. Dude is unreal.
"Victor is only player in NBA history to put up 30, 5, 5 and 5 in under 25 minutes."

Well fuck Bob, we got ourselves a ball game. And of course the former jazz men are leading the way, bogie and burks both have their highest point totals of the season, and just hit back-to-back 3 pointers to send the game to OT.
I went to that game as well...I left thinking that Wemby is an absolute game changer player...insane abilities. I wasn't fully onboard until seeing it live. His defense was wild...and as you point out, in only 25 minutes. It was the Blazers and they were dealing with multiple injuries, but holy shit was Wemby impressive.

So the Spurs vs Bucks game was pretty amazing.
Dubs v. JAZZ WCCS
And yes, I did just start watching Basketball this season 2 weeks ago
Why did Wemby only play 26 minutes? Against the Zers, up by 20 it made sense to keep him on the bench, but in a close game? Pop seems like he's basically trying to lose...or he sees Wemby as relatively fragile and wants to max his minutes out 26ish minutes. Weird usage for a player that is so dominant.

So the Warriors vs Nuggets game was pretty amazing.
And gutting for the Warriors. To play like that and give it up in the last two minutes to the champions is gonna stick with them.
Happy trails, Ricky Rubio. Always liked seeing him on the Cavs and seemed like a heck of a teammate. Hope he's able to find peace with his mental health.
I still call it The Jake.
Nugs showed some real heart last night for sure by clawing their way back in the 4th but that buzzer beater Jokic threw up and the subsequent celebration after he hit it was pretty special
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
Cletus: Duly noted.
No shit! lol. If that's the hobbled version of Wemby, my God indeed!
Listened to his post-game presser...dude is wired the right way IMO...in other words he wants to win more than anything else.
I'm liking Scoot and all on the Zers, but man, why couldn't we have gotten that #1 overall last draft!
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that
Watched a few highlights of Wemby from last night. God. Damn.
And Jokic, double god damn. Dude has missed a total of 5 shots over his last 4 games.

Good Celtics Pacers game until the end when the refs decided they had skin in the game. Hope Halliburton recovers soon.
