Heh, montanaskier has an entire forum of skiers rooting against Bama.

The next storm looks a little better this morning... coincidence? I think not.

The Ohioan in me can't say I was thrilled to see Michigan win, but I was certainly happy to see Bama lose.

looks good for the southern mountains at least

theres fun to be had at copper but between the crowds and firmness of the snow the groomers are not that enjoyable to me at the moment. Golddigger (not a typical go to for me) was skiing awesome yesterday, good coverage and nice chalky small bumps. Abasin just doesn't even seem worth it right now, down to limited times of day for len parks even. Lets hope it does more than just get very cold in the northern and central mountains!

Even the CBAC got into it this morning: "According to rigorous barstool statistics, there is a strong correlation between Alabama winning the college football championship and Colorado experiencing a below-average snowpack through March. Thanks to Alabama's overtime loss last night, the storm track is looking more promising in the coming week, and for the rest of the season."

I love it. He even linked the graphic that's been posted in here a few times.

As someone who grew up in central Ohio, rooting for Michigan was tough. But it had to be done.

Abasin AND Copper both provided good times this past week. Copper on 1/1, while not prime, was much better than I expected it to be. Stay stoked, the snow will come.

None of this has been a secret but I haven't seen it presented as such. I won't where this guy got all his information. I've heard some rumors about Alterra looking to develop another base Village at Vasquez (limited road access from town) also.

I rented a condo for 4 seasons that was on Vasquez Rd, before the train tracks, maybe 100 yds from Cooper Creek Sq. The owner decided to sell and offered it to me, at what he thought was a fair price (it was). But I could not swing the purchase. Would have been a short walk to the proposed gondola.

That’s pretty damn funny. I got a message from noted Michigan man Rontele last night when the clock hit 00

I haven't really understood the limited openings on len parks, I went Saturday and got there around 11:30 only to have it close after one run. Even my buddies on patrol there don't understand it, whoever it's coming from higher up. Just let people ski shit.

Agreed. Yesterday had some super random openings around the mountain too. I mean, it is preserving snow quality, but only randomly opening things, mostly in the late afternoon is pretty weird. Seems like they are training a bunch of newbs this year and that's taking up a lot of energy and man power. One of em dropped a sled off Pali yesterday. haha

The "wall" of rope between Lenawee and Pali is also very annoying. Great place to put a rail park, blocking one of the most traversed parts of the mountain. It is like whoever is in charge has never skied the basin before. So strange. What, they don't want people skiing Pali and Lenawee?

So yeah, strange year for sure, happy for whatever we get but man, it is a weird one. Hope this pattern changes soon.

Upcoming pattern change that Gratz keeps talking about isn't looking great for Abasin. Need more than a few inches to dig out from a 56% of avg snowpack. I had high hopes after the Bama loss plus some of the recent 'Plea to Ullr' posts, lol.

Quite the odd year for sure. Not often that we can't road trip to find good snow.

I feel like they over corrected when they tweaked the Opensnow models because everyone said they were too optimistic. This is easily the latest I still have yet to ski the Basin in any year that I have had access to it.

Last week I was going to the top of bmx and then having to skate past the top ramp to get over Len from Pali. It's pretty annoying when all they have to do is move two friggin tubes, like how hard can that be? Although it took them forever to even set those two features up so yeah who knows. Going to go up there in a few to at least enjoy this last bit of sunshine before it gets very cold and maybe (hopefully!) snows.

It is going to snow somewhere at least so maybe its time to use some PTO and make some more use of the ikon pass.

Crazy that it is January and Zuma is not even open yet. Haven't been there myself yet, but I can't imagine it is even close to ready given 61" snowfall and the south aspect... Had a killer day skiing the beavers on Christmas last year. We don't even have Davis and Loafer open yet this year. Still holding out hope that the East wall will open and actually be decent this year.
