Hotlapped for a little over an hour, then to the snack bar where senior citizens get FREE COFFEE. Then back out for more hot laps on pristine courduroy.

Looking good there. Nice to see some groomers taking pride in their work.

Get that training in now, my man.

Yeah, today was amazing after the snow making sesh since Sunday across the entire region. Unfortunately, down here, all goes to hell in a handbasket with the last forecasted refreeze tonight, and plenty of warm and rain in the forecast.

    Get it while you can.

    Today with my stepson.

This past weekend they canceled a race practice because of rain, so we showed up after it moved out and made the most of the grey.

I'm getting PAINFULLY bored with winter. Scraped all the boards a few days ago, and now it's gonna get even warmer... Does anyone have a virgin daughter to sacrifice? (Sconnie dads - don't be fooled...they aren't...)

Warm and wet conditions around here, Tyrol is doing what they can to get people out sliding with a few runs open. Not sure how the rainy weather will affect when they can spin lifts

I haven't been out yet cause I gimped-up my arm, guessing to be back out skiing before the end of January

FKNA boys! Glad to see Harry and Ugly bringing the stoke despite the absolute abysmal start to the season.

Headed down to Nordic for the first time since college yesterday. It's not big but they had great coverage and everything worth skiing was open. Snow was awesome and with the cloud cover held up really well for how warm it was. You can pretty much see the whole hill from their deck so the kids were fired up that they could keep skiing by themselves while mom and dad took a break had a cocktail. Jr. helped his little sis collect her gear after casing a jump and I think at one point even said he liked having her to ski with.

holy shit - gsinister, lake effect, Harry, all of y'all - y'all post some absolutely amazing stoke in this thread. absolutely love that corduroy shot Harry.

I wanna come ski with y'all - this year is no good because we're already all booked out for our winter shenanigans, but I would absolutely love to plan a trip next winter to see y'all and ski the UP and Wisconsin. My gf would absolutely love this shit. It looks amazing - and, being a child of the Midwest, like something she would be absolutely stoked on.

Managed 20k yesterday with the relatively faster moving chair 3 fixed grip Dopplemyr finally spinning for the season. In a reluctant nod to the weather, and with my wife's parents at the house for xmas, we took today off, but they are still turning the lifts at Chestnut in a heroic effort against this wet heat wave.

The forecast has improved a bit with light at the end of the tunnel towards the back half of this week but dire record high weather with rain till then. Brought all of our skis home to refresh the soft yellow that has kept us sliding.

Can't pretend it was amazing, but spring like skiing in a persistent dense other worldy flat light fog broken only by the absurd bright winter green grass, and skiing straight onto moving lifts meant we couldn't rip ourselves away till dark.

POURED in the TC metro all day today. Not the Christmas Miracle I was hoping for... Anyone have hot 18+-y-o daughter they can sacrifice to the ULLR thread? It's for the better of humanity after all...

Well, I suppose it’s about time to talk about skiing at the Troll Wednesday the third. I’m planning on being there for a good time. Anybody else?

Temps have been perfect for making snow the last couple of nights. If anybody is dialed in, it will be the Troll!

Guns are cranked at the nut. Hoping they open back up tomorrow. This week looks good every night.

Pretty devastating for them to lose this past week to the rain.

Midwest opensnow shared their beta snowmaking chart. Pretty cool! I relented and bought the family the $40 subscription to the app for Christmas. No substitute for actually skiing...but...I should have had it before.

This chart isn't on the app quite yet though.

Got out to Welch today with the grom. Terrain was limited, but snow was better than expected (fine granular vs the boilerplate I was expecting). Not many in the lot/ on the hill either. Beer is up to almost $10 pint though. Felt good to get out considering the low expectations.

$10/pint?!? This might make me ski more & drink less I guess...

I'm gonna try tomorrow morning while the hangover crowd is sleeping it off. I wonder if the overnight inch or so of snow will help?

A little stoke this morning for the flatlanders...

    2019/2020 Midwest Stoke Thread

Woke up to a powder day here in Northern Wisconsin. A 1/4 inch of fluff on top of an inch of glare ice made driving somewhat challenging.

Skiing was awesome. Started out as corduroy, got ground into sugar as the day went on. Simulated a half inch of powder. Woohoo!

Well, we started out with 4 people, but I don’t think 1 was a maggot, so 3 mags and a lurker.
    1) AxeBiker
    2) Bacon Me Crazy
    3) myself
    4) other dude

Conditions sucked. Snow guns blasting. Clothing got soaked skiing through the spray.

Day ended on a bad note. I had some sort of medical incident, I blacked out while skiing. Came to and I was in a heap at the bottom of the run.

With my history of heart problems that ended my day. Axebiker is a retired patroller so he kept a close eye on me. We hung out in the lodge and I hydrated. I had no more issues so we parted ways and I am now safely home.

I have an appointment next week with Mayo in Rochester, I will be discussing this incident with my doc.

Live to fight another day. Harry's not one to fall for no damn reason, so the concern meter was elevated, and then pegged when he told us how things "went down" so to speak, but we had a text check in to make sure everyone got home in one piece. I blame the waffle fries...

Yes - conditions were rough today, but hey - we got to ski... Better days to come. Looks like some extended colder temps on the way FINALLY. Looking forward to Friday!

Holy crap, Harry! Glad you made it home O.K. I hope they can figure this out and it doesn’t happen again. Take care.
